Truly Effective — Broke the Habit Faster Than I Expected
The TGuard AeroFinger Anti-Finger Sucking Guard has been a huge help for our family. My child had a strong finger-sucking habit, especially during naps and bedtime, and nothing else worked. This guard is soft, lightweight, and surprisingly comfortable — my child adjusted to it quickly. The design is smart: it blocks the suction without hurting or restricting movement. After a few days, we already noticed a decrease in the habit, and after a couple of weeks, it was almost completely gone. The straps keep it secure, even overnight, and the material is easy to clean.I also appreciate that it comes with clear instructions and a progress chart, which kept us consistent. It’s not cheap, but the results are absolutely worth it. If you’re a parent feeling frustrated and out of options, this is an effective and gentle solution.

So grateful we found this!
Our 3 year old was sucking his two middle fingers and it was starting to cause his teeth to shift. We tried everything, but nothing worked. Then I came across TGuard while looking for something else on Amazon, so we figured we would give it a try. It was very easy to use, and fit our kiddo's hand well without causing any skin issues. They were still able to do their normal activities while wearing the guard, and it held up well. The best part is - in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS he was done sucking his fingers and has not gone back!! This was just what we needed and are so pleased with the results!

It just didn’t work
After trying other methods to stop finger sucking, I was hopeful that this device at this price point would work. I did everything as outlined by the instructions in the kit but unfortunately it didn’t work. My child was only using one specific set of fingers on one hand but then immediately switched to using the other hand to suck on once I put this on. The recommendation on the website if this happens is to buy a second guard for the other hand. However, this really isn’t practical since it prohibits mobility and dexterity in the fingers. My child couldn’t really use her hand for her preschool activities because it was restricted to the molded shape of the guard. I think for strong willed kids, this may or may not work, so you have to decide if you’re willing to take that risk.

WORTH THE PRICE!
My son has been sucking his fingers from about 6 months to now 3 years old . He wore this finger guard for two weeks and 3 days and has completely broke the habit. It has been over a month that he has gone without the finger guard and he has not fallen bake into the habit! We tried everything from bitter nail covers to homeopathic methods to bandaids and nothing worked until this!! We are so happy, so thankful, so grateful!! The only minor flaw is that he did bite on it a bit which is actually why we took it off in the first place- he eventually bit a piece of so we stopped use to see if we needed to purchase a replacement one. But we did not. A few weeks with this finger guard (and rewards like the included sticker map) was all he needed!

Stays on, well tolerated, and protects fingers
I bought this for my 4 year old child who is blind and autistic. She bangs her fingers into her teeth and was getting terrible wounds. We were trying to bandage them and were having to hold her down with two people and wrap tape all over her hand. My husband even got called to the school to retape because a parent has to hold. And every time the bandage was off even for a few minute she would re-injure it. This product has really been a game changer. We have only had it come off accidentally once when she was sleeping, which is why we now have double bracelets. She can bathe, eat, sleep, and seems totally comfortable in it. It actually seemed to calm her as soon as it was applied. The wound is almost healed underneath. You can see under it and the skin can breathe but it gives decent coverage so I haven’t had to do any special wound care. I know it’s not for wounds but I’m sure she’s not the only child that has gotten to this point if parents are buying something like this. She has now switched to the other hand so we have to buy another one, and they’re not cheap. But I am very happy with the product.

Idea good..realistically didn’t work out.
I got these for my 2 year old because she’s moving her jaw due to sucking her fingers. I followed the size recommendations and they did not fit until recently(she’s almost 3 now). Honestly this isn’t worth the money..it doesn’t seem to work even following the instructions. It’s easy to use and maybe my kid is just very determined. I would suggest trying something else before investing in this..It does not seem to fit my kiddo well, if we tighten it to where it doesn’t come off it digs in her skin and if we loosen it one notch it’s sliding too much.

Just an ok product
Bought this for my one year old who sucks her 2 middle fingers. It appears to work fine but the bracelet rubbing is a major issue and design flaw. My daughter’s skin began to get irritated after only a few days. After 2 weeks her whole wrist was red with little scratches (this is after using band aids to protect her skin + giving her wrist a break every am). I have now switched to a gauze wrap. If things don’t improve by the end of the week, I’m taking this thing off and hoping that 2 weeks did the trick.

Buy this now!
My only regret with purchasing this is that I didn't buy it sooner! My 2 year old has been sucking her middle and ring finger since she was a few months old. I have tried everything- glove, cast, nail polish, even Wasabi! Nothing helped or she could take it off. I had this on her for 25 days and then slowly weaned her off. And voila! She has not attempted to suck her finger!!!! It comes with an instruction book which i thought was a bit much at first but turned out to be very helpful. Even has a sticker page to track progress. I ran out of bands due to doubling up at first when I didn't need it but just bought more. She faught me at first but then it became the norm. I only took it off for showers since she was too distracted to suck her fingers. Other than that, she had it on every moment- playground, jumping park, school, dinner, everything. I love this! Only problem we had is that she chewed it a little and it broke on the side, but still wearable.

Worked perfectly well
After trying several different methods to stop my daughter from sucking her middle and index fingers, I decided to buy this product when she was 16 months old.We only removed it every 2–3 days for cleaning, and I even kept it on during bath time. To my surprise, after just 11 days, she completely stopped sucking her fingers. She is now 18 months old and hasn’t gone back to the habit for over two months.I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt I had to share my experience because I spent a lot of time reading reviews before purchasing and wanted to be sure my money wouldn’t be wasted.Thankfully, it worked for us, and I’m so pleased with the results.

Life Changing
3.5 year old girl, finger sucker day and night. I am an ECE and ITE, so I see this often. We used this product for 2 weeks day and night, changing the band and cleaning it throughly before each night time. Then we went to just using it nightly for the rest of the month. It wow absolutely amazing. You need to go into this knowing that the first 3 days will be absolute garbage, they won’t sleep well, they’ll scream the first night and it will break your heart but that 3rd day it was completely different. I would suggest not changing it or taking it off at all those first 3 days but rather covering it with a glove or plastic bag when they eat or play messy. Make it fun, let them pick the band colour each time. The sticker chart that comes with it is great too. Our daughter worked towards a book and a stuffy and is so proud she gets it this weekend. This is 100% worth it to not need ortho care down the road. I have been recommending this product to every parent. Once your child gets use to it, they don’t even notice it’s there. If you need to take it off and don’t want to put it on again right away, I’d suggest a soft fluffy glove (the cheap ones from the dollarstore) to put it on that hand. My daughter liked to have that for a break sometimes in the 2nd week. Overall, I went in with zero expectations and I am so relieved it worked!

Successful for our 2-year-old son
I felt like I had to write a review as there has yet to be any Canadian reviews! My son began sucking his index and middle finger around 8 months old and we believed he would out grow it. We noticed it was becoming a problem when his first 2 fingers were becoming deformed/bent due to chronic sucking. I asked everyone you could think of for advice - parents, family members, social media, etc. I finally found my way over to this product on Amazon. It might not be as popular in Canada due to the price-tag, it cost us $150 Canadian and now I see it is $229 Canadian. *Note* (As per other reviews) the T Guard does not come with enough bracelets to make it effective IMO. We did order another set of bracelets from the T Guard company from Amazon for $100 CDN, so again another pricey item, however it is worth it if it can help stop the habit. We began the treatment at 23 months in the summer-time as I am a teacher and I knew I could commit the time and energy required. I will be honest -- sleep was TOUGH! It was pretty much 3-4 weeks of very poor sleep and napping as he was so used to self-soothing by sucking his fingers. I eventually had to re-sleep train him. It was some trial & error to help him sleep -- introducing stuffed animals, blankies, etc.We ended up doing treatment longer than 30 days as when he had the glove off he would still put his fingers in his mouth. We kept the glove on during the day for about 50 days and will now stick to only over-nights (we have lots of extra bracelets now to do this).I will add -- as a teacher, I wanted to approach this in a more 'holistic' way and incorporate social stories and figure out what my son's sensory needs are to really help him break this habit. And it helped! For example, I printed photos of my son doing activities that required his fingers and hands, e.g. "fingers are for riding your bike" we would read this story everyday and then he would be able to recite the mantra back. "Fingers aren't for sucking." So, if he began placing his fingers in his mouth we would be able to remind him what fingers are for.Secondly, I researched sensory needs and why children suck their fingers -- could be 'oral sensory seeking' or proprioceptive sensory seeking behaviours (look it up if you're interested!) Once you look more into it, you'll go down a rabbit hole, but this reminded me of my son ... so to meet his needs we would incorporate 'heavy work' before nap and bedtime, e.g. crashing into couch, carrying heavy items, etc.Lastly, we had my son choose the colour of bracelet he wanted to wear everyday. This helped him have more buy-in! We never treated the glove as a negative thing, also talked about his "super awesome glove" when people would ask. I think he only asked once or twice to have the glove off, other than that he was content wearing it.Finally, I read and re-read other people's reviews, especially four and five star reviews when I was feeling defeated from lack of sleep! Ha. Something that other people have mentioned is finding the right fit so it's not too tight or too loose. We found using athletic tape around the band helpful so it wouldn't bother his wrist and as the day wore on the bracelet loosened up and I never noticed he had any wrist issues with it digging in.All in all, the glove DID work for us. He's had it off now during the day and nap and there has been no finger sucking. I am going to keep it on overnights as he transitions to a new daycare this fall and that can be tough for little ones.Best of luck to other families trying this product, remember it's a commitment! But you can do it and it's worth it in the end :)

Material is not quality
It seems a lot to pay ($150) for such a small piece of plastic only to see it falling apart in less time than it takes for the habit to be broken.

Exceptional customer service
I wanted to take the time to applaud t guard on their incredible customer service. I had purchased the size small for my daughter (who is fairly petite) and although we couldn’t make use of the finger guard, they were excellent in making our return and refund an amazing experience. They were excellent to deal with and not only did they fully refund my purchase, they paid my shipping return as well. If you are hesitant in purchasing, don’t be! Because they are dedicated to your customer Experience. I highly recommend!
