Made in USA!
This is my 3rd birds choice house. I’ve had martins for 25 years and these houses will replace gourd houses which are smaller where compartments are concerned. Love the double rooms. I’m not good at following instructions but these were easy. Assembly is tedious and not a fan of the sharp edges but it’s sturdy and made in USA . Instructions were straightforward. Husband set me up with proper tools and wasn’t too difficult.

GREAT Martin house!
I am not handy, and after reading the reviews about assembly I decided to just take my time. Therefore, I did, and the assembly process was actually kind of fun/rewarding since I did it using primitive tools and sitting in front of my TV. It was not hard to assemble but takes a little patience and the end result is worth it! I just skimmed the instructions because it was fairly intuitive (though I did have to redo a couple of screws that I didn't foresee, so it may be better to at least consult the instructions periodically while screwing many many screws). It is pictured installed on the third level of my observation tower and martins investigated it within about two weeks. So far, I have 3 nesting martin pairs and 1 sparrow that I need to evict. If it fills up with martins this year, I may install another one! The suites are a great idea, details such as ventilation (it's in the 100's in TX when the chicks will hatch) and raised nesting box (to avoid getting soaked in heavy rains) are excellent, as is the overall appearance and obvious lack of exterior maintenance since it is coated metal. It also stood up to some 40+ mph winds we got just after I installed it. Nothing more pleasing than hearing the sounds of the martins and watching their acrobatic aerial antics... Quality investment

Good quality, worth the money
We bought a martin house last year of a different brand and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of this one over the one we previously purchased. This one went together more easily although it did take about five hours. There were supposed to be holes in two of the plates and there weren't so the birds can't get from the outside room to the inside room on the top floor but we could have fixed that if we had realized it earlier. We'll probably take it down next winter and open it up properly. Otherwise, this is a good quality house and the martins are already moving in. We will be replacing the one we bought last year with another one of these soon.

Great Looking Bird House
Put this devil together yesterday...an almost all day job. Definitely, as others have said, a two-person job. The directions were "just ok" and really need to be done by some poor assembler in the lay community versus an engineer. The "step by step" was nice, but it missed a lot of instruction and we had to take out screws and redo for the next step...which should have been mentioned in the previous step. BUT, we "got 'er done" and it looks fabulous! I think the Martins will love the house once we get it up. Now we just hope our pole will fit this house. This is a replacement for a very old house. Everything is metal, no plastic, so this one should last a long time.

Good house, just poor assembly and component design instructions
I'd give a 4.5 star rating for quality, design and Purple Martin usage. I'd give 2 stars for the perfectionist engineer(s) approach to the screw and nut connections, component matching, and assembly instructions. I challenge the not-so-easy assembly instructions and pictures (small and poor). I'm an engineer, general contractor and pragmatist--not a pencil pushing designer who doesn't understand the principle of KISS (keep it simple, stupid). Answer: color coded components and pop rivets. That's stronger, durable and faster assembly. Good house, just poor assembly and component design instructions.

Easy to clean
Parts, parts, and more parts -- but this is a well designed system and the Martins prefer the deluxe accommodations! Base is included. Easy to clean. Don't mess with a mail order pole. Buy two eight foot lengths of galvanized pipe (approximately same diameter as the house base) and join the two pieces of pipe with galvanized fitting of matching diameter. Grind off threads on one end of pipe and line up for hole in the house base -- drill hole in pipe that aligns with the holes in house base. Connect pipe to base of the house with a "C-pin." I used a 5 gal bucket with two bags of concrete, poured in to a hole. Would allow for future removal -- if necessary. The bottom of pole was threaded on to a galvanized base plate, of appropriate diameter. The plate was previously anchored to the cured concrete with bolts/nuts and I used a level with a piece of the pipe to ensure everything was going to be perpendicular. Spray paint the pipe flat black (before/after assembly). This pole apparatus is super sturdy, looks great, and can be stowed during winter months. Best looking rig in the neighborhood.

tough to put together Worth the effort
Product is quality american It is a great Martin House. we have been hosting :purple Martins for 30 years and have always used a version of this House. We have raised Hundreds of Martins and they seem to love this style of house. The only issue I have is the instruction sheet is not well presented and it takes your careful attention to detail to figure out the patterns. A you tube video would be very helpful That said we are a satisfied customer
