Precision sound at the right price! - Look nowhere else.
If you are a music lover, casual listener or even a professional this pair of cans would stop nothing short of impressing in every respect. I am a casual listener who appreciates quality sound -- I bought this to pair it up with my LG v40 Thinq quad DAC, and man this one rocks!! I have graduated from Sony MDR-1A (48 ohms) and am now listening to every song and album all over again! Build quality and comfort - 5/5 Valour pads are super comfy, over the ear fit is excellent, no hindrance or sound leak for those who wear specs, steel band was initially running tight but then in a week's time it eases out. (or you get used to it?! :-) ).... and makes for a perfect fit for a long time wear. Runs slightly warmer at my ears inside the cups, but thats a nit pick. The wire and its joints are well built - appears to hold up for a long long time. Sound quality - 5/5 Precision sound with tight bass, clear mids and precise highs -- never overpowering but sufficient to delight music lovers and gamers alike. A very lovable sound signature overall. Spatial sound is super amazing with a very large sound stage; Listening to 8D flacs shows night and day difference between the Sony MDR-1A (similar to the ATH M50x) and this! I 'm sure you will enjoy this. Features -- 3/5 Nothing to write home about; A well built pair of cans and thats about it. Case is a cheap string bag; There is a 6.3mm connector provided; Very long round wire -- non detachable can get unwieldy to lug around. Wouldnt fold or lay flat. No microphones. But hey, when we mean good quality audio at a reasonable price, who cares about frills. Overall a great purchase and a very happy experience owning this! I havent gone back to my Sony since this one arrived. If good quality sound is your choice over portability or features, I 'd easily recommend this over the likes of Audio Technica ATH M50x, Sony MDR-1A, and the likes. NOTE to owners of LG phones with Quad DAC: If you are wondering if the LG Quad DAC would drive the Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro, yes it easily does. Choose the 80 ohms version for this. I listen at 25 ~ 35 points (out of 100 points) and that is comfortably loud.

It's good. Really good. (80ohms)
Pleasant sound. Alright sounds stage. Awesome instrument separation. Very good build quality. It's build to last (like a decade or more kind of...) 80ohms version has a stoopid long cable (buy cable managing ties or velcro straps and loop it😉). Sibilance is bad in these cups (nothing that a slight tune in Equalizer can fix). 80ohm version has a harder diaphragm made specially for drummers and bass instrument monitoring with overhang voicecoil construction. 32 and 250ohm have low mass diaphragm underhung voicecoil for superb details preservation but loses on bass (pick your poìson). 80 ohms can be easily driven by smartphones at around 85-90 level volume, and with 40 level volume in Laptops. Long wiring is the only bothersome aspect, besides which there is not much to complain about. Either you'll love these for the almost flat signature or hate them for lack of bass. I'd suggest go for the 80ohm or 250ohm as they have velour pads which are much more comfortable than the leather pad on 32ohm model (less warm ears and less sweating). Don't forget to register your serial number on beyerdynamic website. The seller/importer mentioned is not same as the one from which you'll get the box. 'Pink Noise Professionals Pvt ltd' guys are the new importers and authorised after sales service provider (Confirmed by HeadphoneZone and beyerdynamic). These headphones have 2 years manufacturing defect warranty but side sticker on box mentions only 1 year, which I can only assume they mistyped or misprinted it, as HeadphoneZone and beyerdynamic both state 2 years warranty (which you won't ever need lol). This doesn't come with special fragile bubblewrapped packaging, just the sealed box and invoice taped on it. My box was little damaged (you better make a video while unboxing). You may email beyerdynamics for the authenticity check by providing them your serial number and invoice if you doubt you got a fakē one. Cheerio!

One Monitor to Rule them all!
I'm highly impressed with this Sound Monitor. It's 80 ohm version and I paired with Xonar U7 AMP to drive it, It sounds soo neutral! No colored sound signature, extremely neutral and superbly balanced. I get it now why this headphone is used by Music artists (you can find lots of artists and musicians using it) and sound engineers. And have a really big soundstage even being a closed back headphone. Tried plethora of music genres, tried in movies, games (sp and mp both). Sounds insane everywhere. Bass and sub-bass are detailed and deep. Extremely balanced and not bassy like many colored headphones out there in market. Bright sounding treble. Sharp yet smooth. So low and highs are quite equally balanced. Mid has lots of range. Very Crisp! Amazing separation of frequencies. If you have AMP to drive even higher ohm headphones then ofcourse 250 ohm would be way to go. My xonar u7 is upto 150 ohms so I went for this, and according to reviews 80 vs 250 ohm have little differences than 32 ohm vs 80 ohm version. But don't take my words for it as I haven't listened to 250 ohm version. Just according to reviews. Most of the reviews suggesting that 80 ohms is most fun sounding among other 2 variants. Plus you it's not extremely hard to drive it unlike 250 ohm version. And this headphone is built like a TANK! Clamps are metal (steel), cans are heavy duty ballistic plastic. Earpads are soft breathable velour pads and are extremely comfortable. Clamping force depends on person to person. I have big head, so some distance adjustment on clamp release did the trick. Now this must be one of the most comfortable headphones/monitor I've ever worn. Excellent Audiophile headphone and I'm glad that I went for this after tons of reviews and praise everywhere. btw, DT 770 pro units are all made in Germany. And I stopped believing in so called 'gaming' headphones few years back. They suck...my old Steelseries Elite Prism 11k 'gaming' headphone sounds so insignificant, pathetic compared to this. Don't waste your money on gaming headphones. Get an Audiophile headphone or monitor like these, probably get a DAC/AMP with that as well. There's a reason these headphones are standing tall against the test of time for decades. Fun fact: DT770 released back in 1981. And still this day, they are the choice of musicians, artists and sound mixers, engineers all over the world. That says something!

Great for Music producers. For Music listeners including audiophiles, it's an overkill
If you are a Music producer, simply go for it. It makes all the sense in every possible way including cost. Now for listeners, it is a different story. It's great. Sound quality is superb. Without going into frequency wide review, it is simply a piece that does justice to all the frequencies. Lows and highs are its strength. Mid is slightly, mind it, just slightly recessed, if you compare with other brands that try to keep human vocals a little more discerning. So, if you want to enjoy the Music is its totality with all instruments, airyness, etc. that are specially stressed in many music genres, then this does the perfect justice. Simply put, you will hear every little detail in a music, if you care for that. And it is everything that many reviews claim, it is super comfortable, quite durable but not being able to swivel the earcups is kind of a disadvantage with this one. That thing helps. Now the negative from my experience, the overall cost. If you are a music producer, it is fine as the overall music production costs that you will anyway bear will have no effect on this piece. But, for listeners, even audiophiles, who are on a reasonable frame of mind, because the cost we are now talking about is already on the higher side for listeners, this is way costly. It needs a AMP, or AMP Dac, so we are mandatorily talking about another Rs. 15000 to 20000 at least. With the total cost Rs. 30000 to 35000, this is an overkill, for listeners, even audiophiles. Now I am not talking about a few who can and will shell out even Rs. 1 lacs or much more in the search of "transcendence in ears". In summary, it costs a bomb, overall. It is not just this peice, you will need a few more AMP etc. attachments on top of this. I have settled for the 32 Ohms version of this, but still the sound is low compared to most other brands in this price or technical range. So, generally, I would still prefer Audio Technica M50 over this, for all the things that are just opposite of what I described above for this. You have one piece of M50x , you are done. M50x is still way better than this one for DJing for almost all of the genres Targetted today. M 50s sound real fun compared to this one. This piece, dt 770 pro, is a bit of entry level conossiure minded sound equipment that you can pass. If you want to enjoy the music, for almost all genres, you can easily go for M50x. You will miss a little bit of very low end bells, chimes, birds chirping that you never heard till now and honesly you would not care. You never did really. Soundstage is a definite strong point of this piece. But again, buyer beware, this becomes costly as even 32 Ohms version needs AMP, costing it more and it is not so easy to carry or move with even in a room. The 32 Ohms version has another weak point, the core length is way small, so needs extension. Now, beyerdynamic says , 32 Ohms version is for Mobile and such devices. Well, then why is it this low in volume. I am disappointed with the volume. And put it simply, an over the ear Headphone for mobiles or mobility is a stupid idea now, given that low cost, in ear models today give a far superior experience already. And in ears being miniature just drive great with low power input. Plus, in today's lifestyle, there is no equipment in a general listeners' home that will need a 80 Ohms version. We listen from portable devices or laptops, or a few people on 3.5 mm output of home theatres, or TV, or multimedia speakers. All these are fine with 32 Ohms version. So, what's the point of this over the ears version? Is it in ears are "bad " for ears, that is just plain BS. Just trim down the volume and keep the volume to an acceptable range, you are fine, in ear, out ear, over, top, wherever! I summary , for seasoned music producers , this is great. For everyone else, it is an overkill. Audio Technica M50 still makes a ton of sense, it is comfy, tremendously portable, has 3 options of cords, make quality is tremendous and you will real enjoyment and fun with M50 sound signature. For that "transcendence in ear", frankly you have plethora of choices, and somewhere you will need to showoff the price range to advertise that around you so dt 770 pro is too shabby for that, pun intended.

The beast headphones 🎧 No doubt that!
This is the beast of all studio headphones 🎧 Indeed, it is built like a tank & the most uncoloured frequency response we can get in this budget! It lasts for a lifetime & it's my one-time investment headphones I'm sure!!

The old guard of studio headphones.
I was looking to buy this headphone for a long time, but I wasn't sure which impedence (32,80,250) should I go for. After watching several YouTube videos, scrolling through several articles on HeadFi and other audiophile forums. I finally decided, I'll go for 80ohm version. After listening to HiRes songs(16bit and 24bit), I realised why this is called a legendary headphone. The instrumental separation is top notch, imaging is great, isolation is amazing and comfort.. well these velour earpads are a blessing for someone listening to songs for multiple hours. Most comfortable headphones I have ever tried. Finally, a tip for those who want to buy this headphone for casual listening, I'd suggest go for 80ohm version if your primary source is laptop. These sound superb even without external Dac/Amp. But if you can arrange a Dac/Amp for this, it'll only enhance the sound output. You'll be able to hear finest details of song that you might have never heard before. For those who'll be using this with mobile phone, I'll suggest go for 32ohm version. I cannot comment on sound signature of that variant. One thing to note would be, 32ohm version comes with pleather earpads. No velour unfortunately.

Detailed sound
At first when I started use these, I felt like the sound is too neutral, but then I realised it was supposed to sound like that so we can hear every note in the music clearly like it was supposed to be. After listening for more than 2 hours comfortably (thanks to the velour pads), I started to feel slight pain around the ears due to the high clamping force. If you are an audiophile or just need the best sounding headphones for your pc, this one is a good choice. Also I don't feel the need to get an amp, previously I used a 32ohm headphone at volume of 32-40, now listening at a volume of 52-60 for music and 80 for movies in this 80ohm variant, above 80 volume it starts to distort. P.S. plugged in desktop computer. *After 6 months of usage* the clamping force has been dropped as I use the headphones. You should definitely purchase a Dac and Amp to get the most out of this headphones. I bought iFi Zen Air Dac, it just improves the sound quality to a different league (now I get it why audiophiles are using expensive Dac and Amplifiers.

Great quality and detail but not the improvement that I was looking for compared to my Sony MDR-7506
I ordered these headphones to try to improve to the lower base response and slight raised high frequencies of my current favorites which that I have used for around 5 years. These are the Sony MDR-7506 and were around £85 when I purchased them, they produce and exceptionally detailed soundscape which sounds open and airy and the vocals are exceptional (you can understand why these are reputed to be to goto general studio headphones for around 20 years). The Bass is detailed and you can discriminate every note. However the very low bass is lacking a little depth, and the very high end is emphasised. For this is the reason I decided to look for new headphones that could improve on these areas and was prepared to increase my budget, if needed, to around £200. I eventually tried out Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, Yamaha MT5's, Adam H200, BeyerDynamics DT770 Pro 80 Ohm & DT770 Pro X 32 Ohm, before choosing the AKG K371 - see my reviews of each of these others, for my evaluation of their performance.. As to the BeyerDynamics DT770 Pro - I found their overall design to be good quality. The padding supported the weight well and they were comfortable on your ears. However I did find the earcups slightly large and cumbersome, however the adjustment available allowed a comfortable fit to be achieved. I could have accepted this if the design had provided the audio improvements that I was seeking. Another downside was that these were 80 Ohm impedance and my computer struggled to drive them, so less compatible with my equipment, but my HiFi, phone and portable player all coped ok. The straight 3m cable was a good length and plug adaptor was good quality. The materials used were typical of consumer headphones and seem well made. You would not expect exotic materials at this price. However for me the whole purchase depended on the sonic performance - could they improve on the Sony MDR-7506, in the lower bass depth and high frequencies, without sacrificing the parts that were excellent. These DT770's, were significantly more expensive that my current headphones but did not give me the improvement that I wanted. The overall sound was open and airy. It was very detailed and very versatile, preforming well over the wide range of test tracks that I had chosen. They had very similar performance to my Sony's. Good vocal balance, great detail, however the Sony still seemed to have something a little more special on some vocal performances. They had slightly more tamed high frequencies, but no noticable improvement to the low frequency performance. So overall very good headphones but more costly than the Sony's and but still missing some of the upgrade qualities that I require.
