Take a look at this photo of two identical rope chains side by side. One is the gold plated Lifetime Jewelry “24k gold plated” 3mm 20 inch rope. The other is a gold filled rope of identical size. Which one looks like gold to you? Take a guess….yep you can see it plain as day. The plated one on the right looks like faded rose gold almost, like the plating has already begun to fade. I’ve never seen such a poor quality plating job from the factory. I would never wear this out. Keep in mind I just opened both of these packages and set them beside each other. The filled one will last a decade or more with care. Yes, it’s double the price, but it’s only $100 bucks for a chain that at least looks like real 10k or better. This chain is 5% gold, it’s not plated, it actually has a sleeve of solid gold that is bonded to a jewelry grade brass core. It won’t rub off, it won’t fade like plating or turn colors and tarnish. It’s just like a hollow gold rope but stronger because of the core which allows them to make the gold layer thinner. Don’t waste your money buying plated junk over and over, save up if you have to and get the gold filled chain. You’ll thank me later.

Gold chains are the latest craze. Recipients of these gifts were thrilled. I had Kremetz chains and these are comparable 24 carret gold on nickel. Very durable. I would purchase again.

The necklace looks good but make sure your right about the size. I got a 24 in but it looks short on me. all and all it's not bad but Ihave not worn it in the shower.

I have purchased various lengths of Lifetime Jewelry rope chains for years. They have always lasted and looked beautiful. I've worn one against my skin day after day. It was my go to necklace. I purchased a replacement recently and found it cannot be worn against my skin. I now get the itchy, burny red marks that I get when jewelry contains nickel. It is still a lovely chain to wear over shirts, but I can't wear it to work daily, against my skin, as I'd done for years.

Very poor quality product. Within just one month, the color started fading from the chain. Completely unacceptable and a total waste of money. Highly disappointed.
