Worth the price
These anchovies are more expensive than other brands sold on Amazon, but are worth the extra money. The other brands are mushy and bony but this brand has a great texture and flavor and seems to have fewer bones in each filet. Yes, they are salty but they're anchovies!

Mind the sodium!
Like all brands of anchovies preserved in oil and salt, these are murderously salty. I suggest pouring off and discarding the oil, and rinsing or soaking the anchovies in water before incorporating into recipes.

Sea Salt
It is utterly amazing: How they managed to get ALL THE SALT IN THE OCEANS OF THE WORLD into EACH can! That or this breed of Anchovy must be so insanely saline that they're salty in the sense of being EMOTIONALLY BITTER.This means that a little goes a long way. A single fish can salt an entire pot of pasta sauce, for example. (actual example)I'm also fairly certain that the King Oscar processing plant has an automated machine that individually grabs each anchovy by the face and forces it to make eye contact with the literal and actual severed head of Medusa before being placed in oil and canned.Great quality. Recommended for turning Fresh Water Tanks into Brackish Tanks and a sweet alternative to Hillary, Bernie, AND Drumpf supporters!

These are the best anchovies available anywhere
If you love anchovies you'll love king Oscar anchovies. If you don't love anchovies you'll only taste oily fish matured in salt. Because that is what they are. Consistent from can to can - year to year. I keep them in the house for when we get a cold antipasto or Pizza because no one else in the house likes them (they complain that they only tase brine) - so I order my food without them and sprinkle liberally with King Oscar. I like her flat ones on my pizza and the rolled ones in my salad. Yum! There is another style of anchovies pickled in vinegar, but that's for another review.

Second only to the hope diamond.
I’m more of a smoked oysters straight out of the can man. But my boyfriend acts like I bought him the Hope Diamond when I bring these home!

Great for my spicy spaghetti sauce recipe
I hate sardines. I hate anchovies. But these are so good in my 30 minute spaghetti sauce. Fry garlic with 3 anchovies, add plumb tomatoes, a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes, mushrooms, chopped black olives. Mix in cooked spaghetti at the end. Delish.

Really Good Anchovies
Man these anchovies were so good. They seemed so fresh. I ate some straight out of the can. I put them on some pizza and it brought the whole meal up a notch. I could eat these with anything.
