good germination after freezing for 24 hours. the sprouts have a purple color to them and are very vigorous. Edit: its june now and the flowers are starting to bloom. I sowed the seeds too late and wayy too close together. The flowers are small and the plants did not reach its full potential. My mistake. However ALOT made it to flower and will hopefuly make enough seed to come back next year. They are very vigoruous and drought tolerant.

These seeds suck! Never sprouted and planted in multiple places including pots. Read the directions did exactly what it asked.

While this review is preliminary, I thought I would let others know that upon receipt of the seeds I planted 12 seeds as instructed to test the percentage of germination rate. ALL 12 seeds germinated within one week and are about 1 inch tall after one week. I realize this is not a full review of the finished products but, I thought it important to let others know that buying seeds from Earthcare Seeds is an excellent investment. The packaging was done with care & concern for safe arrival of the seeds. An excellent germination rate definitely shows me that they sell a very good product. I highly recommend purchasing from Earthcare Seeds. As a side note, I also bought similar seeds from a few other companies available on Amazon and to my surprise, I was informed after the sale that the seeds are shipped on a slow boat from China. It's already been one month and the shipping info still states arrival time will be some time in May. I recommend buyers take that particular point in to account. The other seeds were less expensive but, shipping time is too long of a wait to see what quality & condition they will arrive in seeing as they are travelling on 'a slow boat from China'. Buyer beware! Stick with Earthcare Seeds or at least another American company. Who knows what condition the seeds will endure in the cargo hold of a ship all the way from China !!! I certainly learned my lesson and will stick to reliable sources such as American-based Earthcare Seeds.

The papaver somniferum seeds I ordered arrived very quickly and were professionally packaged. The seeds themselves look to be somniferum, as advertised...but poppy seeds are so small it's hard to tell if they're actually what you paid for until the plants reach adulthood. Assuming they're the right ones, I would definitely go to this seller for specialized seeds you can't necessarily pick up year round at the plant nursery. Price was on the high side compared to other poppy seed sellers, but if the packaging and ship speed is any indication, the higher quality probably justifies the higher price tag. Will update if germination goes poorly or they turn out to be a different poppy variety, but all signs are good so far! UPDATE 1/8/2020: doing well, both indoors under vegetative grow lights and outdoors as well! They have no problem handling our lowest nighttime temps (high 20s) and actually seem to like when the weather is colder. Will update if/when they bloom to confirm they're somniferum, but it sure looks like these are the real deal.

I can get them to germinate but I can not get the plant to grow over an inch tall.

I didn’t get a single poppy flower out of this packet just random weeds, wasted time, and dirt
