outstanding exhibition catalogue
This exhibition is stunning. The catalogue is beautifully presented. There is so much information in it and, of course, the photography is of the highest quality.

Truly gorgeous photography, along with informative historical writing
I've used this to teach a World History unit on the Qin and Han dynasties. The art is stunning, including images of some obscure favorites of mine from the era, as well as some that were new to me. This book is a thousand percent worth it, especially at this price! I would have been happy to pay two or even three times the current price (as of this writing). Printing quality is excellent, photos are crystal-clear.

Difficult essays, great catalogue
(Updated after finishing the book) The book is divided into 2 parts.1. Essays: The essays are wordy, dense, and difficult to read. I've read many essays in exhibition catalogues before, but these were really hard to get through. The topics should have been fascinating but instead the structure and writing style really drained the joy out of them. I wouldn't recommend them to readers who have no background knowledge of the Qin/Han Dynasties.2. Catalogue: The catalogue is really impressive with 140 plates, including textiles, lacquerware, jades, bronzes, pottery, etc. The photos are all high quality and there are a few close-ups too.Overall: The catalogue is great, but the essays really detracted from the reading experience.
