J'aime Les Chants Magnetiques!
1981 saw the release of this, Jean-Michel Jarre's 3rd album. On release, this time, though, the use of the synthesizer was widespread, but J-M J countered this by sheer musicianship, and producing that most difficult thing; a fascinating, dense, and beautiful sonic object, which, at the same time, was accessible to the average listener, whilst not upsetting the serious music fan. Best played very loud, with no distractions, this is a classic piece of music which remains utterly timeless.

Great music damaged by poor re-master
My favourite Jarre Album, but it has been really badly re-mastered. Muffled sound, lots of mid-eq boost - the drums on Part 2 are squashed to an inch of their lives. Night and Day compared to the original recording. Avoid.

Classic album, better value on CD than MP3 download
I've started ripping classic albums to iTunes again. Spotify can be inconsistent in its catalogue and CDs like this are cheaper than download stores. The album itself is a classic though it sounds a touch brighter than I remember

Good record seller
Just a wonderful album, arrived earlier, and very well packaged. No damages or scratches.

'Side 2' comprises 50% great material and 50% not-so-great
Part 1 starts magnificently, then meanders around a lot. 'Side 2' comprises 50% great material and 50% not-so-great. Still an essential for Jarre completists, but not brilliant (yet - better than everything post-Rendezvous).
