It's better than 3 stars. But read the review.
(UPDATED AGAIN) The 6-week laptop review is below, after the rant. - A lot of the shortcoming of this model - 14Z980 have been overcome in the newer model 14Z990.BUYING GUIDE. The older model 14Z980 is not available anymore, the newer model 14Z990 overcomes a lot of the shortcomings, however, the best value would be 15Z990.The 3-star review is to bring attention to the inaccuracies this listing and the description of this product both here and on the LG website. And the fact I bought the older model 14Z980 which was replaced with the new model in less than a month. This Amazon listing, when I bought the laptop, claimed this laptop sports a USB Type C connector with Thunderbolt 3 support. This information was included in the product title (Since been removed) and was repeated on the features part of the listings page. (Still there at the time of this edit and update after two weeks)If you are buying this version of the LG gram with the expectation has a Thunderbolt 3 port, don't. There is no Thunderbolt 3 support on this laptop. On the topic of RAM, the Amazon listing page does not mention the RAM specs other than the total installed RAM (8GB). The LG product page, on the LG India website, has inaccuracies and conflicting information. On the LG page, the images show 8GB of single-channel memory while the specs list on the same page mentioned two 4GB sticks. I can confirm it is 8GB single channel. While reviews on I saw on Youtube and 3rd Party website reviews of one of the various models of this laptop show a fingerprint sensor. This model of the Gram does not have it. To be honest none of the above listings claimed to have it, I just expected it and now am disappointed. UPDATE - the new model 14Z990, fixes this and comes with fingerprint sensor)The actual review - 4 stars (6 weeks of use updates added with pictures, no change in rating or opinion, it is still awesome). This is for the older model number 14Z980, wherever the issues have been fixed in the new model, I have mentioned accordingly.I just received this laptop a couple of days ago. And it's great, its everything I expected it to be. It's super lightweight; the screen is excellent (brighter and more vibrant than expected - UPDATE BELOW), the battery life also seems to be great. It's nowhere close to the advertised 21 hrs, but it lasts longer than any laptop I have ever used. The Great- 1. The weight, yes it's less than a kilo, that's ridiculously light.- 2. Battery life. 72wh capacity is a lot for a thin-n-light. In terms of time, it's nowhere close to advertised 21 hrs, buts it's pretty long. I am getting more than 10 hrs of work (email, excel, powerpoint, word, etc.), music, youtube, and videos.- 3. Three years of warranty. How can that not be great? The Good- 1. The keyboard, I type a lot, and the keyboard is good. On many laptops with this layout (power button next to the delete key), I always have a problem. Me and many others, frequently press the power key when they intend to press delete. Here the power key is recessed. And this helps avoid accidental presses of the power key.- 2. Upgradability. Many thin-n-lights do not have a vacant slot/s for RAM upgrades, let alone an additional M.2 Slot. This has both.- 3. Well built. No, I haven't thrown it about or dropped it, in 2 days. But many professional reviewers on youtube have, and as a result, I conclude the LG Gram is solidly built.- 4. USB C Charging. It does support it; If you are willing to spend a little more for a compatible charger, you can use the same charger for your phone and this laptop.- 5. The support - I wanted to have this upgraded immediately. I wanted more RAM and more HDD storage, I asked the LG service centre. They said they would add those for free. No service charges. I obviously would have to provide the hardware, i.e. a RAM stick and M.2 SSD.The Bad- 1. Slightly outdated specs - It has an i5 Kabylake 8250U processor. There are similar and comparable thin-n-lights with newer Whiskey Lake i5 8265U processors. Those run are a little faster. UPDATE - the new model 14Z990, fixed this and comes with an 8265U processor- 2. It takes a long time to charge. Even with the barrel charger, takes way more than 2 hrs to charge.- 3. No Thunderbolt 3. Would have been better with a Thunderbolt 3 port, but the single USB Type C port here is a little better than most. It can charge the laptop as well, and export 4K picture (i.e. works as a display port). - UPDATE - the new model 14Z990, fixed this and comes with Thunderbolt 3- 4. The price. It's pretty steep for the specs. Similarly specced laptops available for less and similarly priced laptops with better specs are readily available.- 5. Only a micro-sd card slot, not an sd card slot.- 6. No discrete graphics processor. Not even an MX130 or something similar- 7. (UPDATED AFTER 2 WEEKS) The screen is overall one of the weakest aspects of this laptop. Though I mentioned it is good, and I stand by it, there are things which can be better. No touchscreen, the colours are overly saturated (Though this was an easy fix in the Intel UHD graphics manager) and there is a lot reflection. Look at the attached image. However, I still maintain the screen is sufficiently bright enough, and the colours are vibrant, if not "professional grade" accurate. The Ugly-Well, it is ugly. That may be too harsh, but it does look plain. It does not look like a premium laptop. When compared with the competition from HP, Dell and MSI, this one will come in last in the most photogenic round. The ConclusionThis laptop is made with a specific clientele in mind. Me.The LG Gram is the perfect laptop for the travelling executive who does a lot of work away from his desk. But is not doing anything particularly interesting. No exciting photo or video editing, nothing that requires a lot of graphics horsepower. Nothing that requires him to touch his screen or flip it around or anything like that. The bright screen is good enough to read in the even in direct sunlight. The small footprint and the ultralight lightweight construction means it will rest comfortably even on a small flight tray table. The excellent battery life ensures it would not need to be charged when no charging port is around. The weight and the ability to charge via USB means it is convenient to carry around with fewer peripherals. The solid construction and the 3-year warranty means ownership will be relatively worry-free. Small drops from the lap shouldn't be too much of a bother (I don't plan to drop it at all, and you shouldn't either). I expect it to last for a long time with a warranty to match. All of the above ensures the owner will be left alone, undisturbed pounding away at his LG Gram. He will make boring plans, fill out a lot of excel sheets, keep on typing. No one will disturb him to compliment him about his laptop; but I think someone should, it is a great little machine.

Excellent Product
I was looking for a light laptop with a good battery. Most of my friends suggested me to go for the MacBook Air, but it is not updated for a long time, it lacks ports, and I love to have control over my hardware. When I saw this product on Amazon I really liked the specs and details, which actually ticks all my requirements.1. Ports: you will get two USB 3 port, one USB C port, and one HDMI port as well. Also, a USB C to ethernet adapter is given inside the box2. Screen: This is a full HD IPS display with edge to edge screen, color reproduction is awesome.3. Battery: It has a 72Wh battery included. Most of the laptops in this segment comes with 60Wh. But this model is giving 12Wh extra juice.4. Weight: This is the lightest laptop I have ever seen. Only 995Grams, LG named this line of products perfectly.5. Expandability: I like to have an extra slot in my system so that I can upgrade my laptop in later times. Not only it comes with DDR4 RAM, but it also comes with two RAM slots with only one used. So, if I want to upgrade my RAM later point in my life I can do so. Same thing with the SSD. Believe me, this is a very rare feature nowadays, at least in this segment.Cons: I personally don't have any complaint about the product but I don't like Windows 10 that comes with this laptop. I am a Linux user and removed wind(owes) completely from my device in order to install GNU/Linux. I believe the support for Linux is a bit less. Though everything worked out of the box starting from the wifi, Bluetooth, touchpad, even the keyboard backlight control, and MicroSD card reader. The only thing I struggled for a week is to limit my battery charge to 80%(so that this battery has a long life). That also got solved by installing a device driver. I really wish all the manufacturers give an option to buy laptops without windows installed in them.Verdict: So, if you are looking for a laptop with very good battery backup, decent display, lightweight, ample ports, and recent line of Intel processors then this should be the choice for you. And guess what is the top up? it comes with 3 years of onsite warranty from LG India.EDIT 1: For those who are asking if it has Virtualization supportYes! It has virtualization support, I have posted a new screen from the device terminal itself.

The best in 14" ultrabook category
An absolute 5 star product. Slim, lightweight, powerful, battery efficient. Build quality is of the highest standards. I am very happy with the product. Battery is brilliant. I can get over 15 hrs. and still have enough juice left for the rest of the day. I don't know, why the youtube reviews crib about the sound quality, Its pretty good for my ears. The Best part - Boot time - Less than 2 sec !!!!!!

Decent laptop with insane battery life.
It's featherweight, look wise it's not premium, but performance wise it is. Less bloatware by LG. Trackpad could have been better. The battery life is insane. My only complain is that highly reflective screen (though the colors are accurate) . Overall satisfied with the product.

One of the best ultrabooks of 2018
Pros :1) Battery life is just crazy. 72Wh can give you juice of 8 hours+ easily with several chrome tabs and my IDE open.2) Super sleek and thin bezel 1080p display3) 3 years LG India warranty for the peace of mind4) Build looks solid and durable . ( checkout the youtube channel named " what's Inside " to witness it's tankness )5) customizability. Dual SSD and RAM slots , which is really cool at this price point for an ultrabook.Cons:1) Audio quality sucks big time . Both headphone and speaker output is below average.2) missing thunderbolt port in this core i5 variant. Got a USB C though3) 256 GB is kinda low out of which around only 190 gigs is usable after OS and default baked-in softwares such as MS Office and Cyberlink Media tools. So, I just attached an additional 256 gigs SSD (WD Green 240GB M.2 2280 Internal SSD (WDS240G1G0B). Thanks to the additional slot. Make sure you only get M2 SATA SSDs not normal SATA or M2 SATA PCI which only supports nVME.Bottomline:Go for it without a thought if you could grab it around INR 65k or less
