The Witchlight Fens - Dungeon Tiles: A 4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons Accessory (4th Edition D&D)

Detailed and usable for an endless variety of wilderness encounters. The quality is definitely above average. It is not glossy or writable on, but does have a grid with difficult terrain markings as shown. The only thing that could've been improved is a clearer discerning on how high the boulders and cliffs are.It accurately depicts marshy fields that give just the right amount of terrain features to make any encounter more three-dimensional. It gives plenty of options for tactical decisions in getting across and outmaneuvering your enemy, without becoming bogged down with too many obstacles. Great for ambushes, traps, random encounters, what have you.The tiles vary from large to small, and can be combined next to and on top of each other to compose and endless assortment of battle map.

A solid addition to any RPG tiles collection, but the focus on 'swampy' terrain may limit its utility more to those niche environs and environmental transitions. Even so, adds a lot of versatility, allows for more complex water features, and has a few set pieces.Blends well with others in the 'set' -  Sinister Woods - Dungeon Tiles: Dungeon Tile Set DU5 (4th Edition D&D)  and  Dungeon Tiles Master Set - The Wilderness: An Essential Dungeons & Dragons Accessory (4th Edition D&D) .Check the Customer Photos for 3 sample configurations using only this set.

I think this is the first tile set I purchased where the sample dungeon didn't require two sets.I'd say roughly 50% of the tiles are land, while the other 50 is water or marshy areas. When I initially looked at the tiles, I was slightly disappointed because I was hoping the tiles would be darker in color and more muddy looking in appearance. However, I quickly got over that when I realized with the current color scheme, it is easy to piece together this set with previous releases of outdoor sets such as  The Wilderness .Here's a rough idea of what tiles are included:8x8 A dock1x2 boat2x raft4x4, 4x8 bridge connecting two small pieces of land (easy to connect with larger bodies)4x4, 2x4, 2x2 pond2x8 (2) river8x8 bridge connecting two pieces of land8x8 small building on an patch of land with docks on two sidesAlso included a few tree tiles, fallen logs, statues, large rocks and many pieces to create a small swampy island.Overall, I'd say this is a really useful set. I was hoping to get more tiles for areas with water. :)

I think this is one of my favorite sets. It kinda acts like a cross between swampy areas and grasslands. You can treat it like a bog, a swamp, or things like that. The tiles are easy to change around, and you can combine it with other outdoor pieces to make a really unique and diverse area.It also comes with a few buildings as well, kinda like cabins in the bog-ish areas.

This set of dragon tiles is a great addition to the game. They are tiles of marshlands, water and a building.

A very useful supplement to the Dungeon Tiles for those who set up outdoor encounters. The tiles were exactly as described: they are sturdy, colorful, and will prove to be very useful in forming terrain with a high water content. Extremely useful in combination with The Wilderness Master Set, which does not have enough variety in the water aspect on its own. Altogether a very good value for the price.

These tiles are super cool, an easy way to vary map locations. Tiles are made of super sturdy cardboard and printing on them is incredibly sharp and clear.

I found these tiles very useful and versatile. Great to use with Dungeon Tile Wilderness. I liked them so much, that a few months later I brought a second copy to create larger swamps.

Amazingly I still have some of my old floor plans from when I was 14 (a long time ago) and things have really moved on. These cards are beautifully presented and seem indestructible. Look great on the games table. Very nice and value for money.

great for a 4e item

For all those who want a swamp location in your fantasy game this is defiantly for you. The locations work well with other pieces I have but at the same time add nice swamp features to them. Sometimes it is difficult to match up the edge of the land but it is still a worthwhile set to have

Die DunegonTiles kommen als 6 stabile Pappen. Die Elemente lassen sich gut herausdrücken. Die einzelnen Teile sind schön Detailreich. Leider kann man die ausgedrückten Elemente nicht in die Verpackung transportieren weil die Rückseite und das viertel Vorderteil (Schrift Dungeons und Balken gehören dazu, das "Explodierte Feld" ist schon eine von den DungeonTiles) nur wie ein Umschlag sind.Man kann damit gut ein Lager auslegen. Die Vorder- und Rückseiten sind jeweils anders Bedruckt.Leider braucht man mehr als ein Set um das ExampleDungeon auf der Rückseite auslegen zu können.Universell einsetzbar für verschieden Aufgaben ist diese DungeonTile schon etwas. Passt gut zu anderen ähnlich Tiles.

Neulich bereitete ich ein Abenteuer vor und benötigte einige Bodenplatten für einen Kampf im Mangrovensumpf. Eine kurze Internetsuche förderte das Witchlight Fens Dungeon Tiles Set zutage, welches voll und ganz meinen Ansprüchen gerecht wurde. Kurzum, meine Spielrunde war sehr zufrieden.Für jedes beliebige RPG einsetzbar, so lange die Action nur in einem Sumpf, Quellgebiet oder in Marschen stattfindet. Schade nur, dass das Set (wie eigentliche alle Dungeon Tiles Sets) keine vernünftige Umverpackung hat, die die Lagerung vereinfachen würde. Hier könnte man jetzt zwar auf die großen Master-Boxen zurückgreifen, aber die sind mit einigen zusätzlichen Sets auch recht schnell voll. Da hätte sich WotC ruhig etwas Besseres ausdenken können...
