Musher's Secret Dog Paw Balm, Hot Pavement, Ice & Salt Protection, 454g

Mushers Secret is phenomenal!!!! I live in AZ. This last week it reached 116.and bounced around from 110 up and down. I have two Boston Terriers and a pool. There is Kool decking on part of the pool but then from that is stamped concrete. The Kool decking is cool for bare feet but the stamped concrete is hotter than the temperatures.it blisters their paws. I was putting baby socks to 1 year on their feet then wrapping vet wrap around the cuffs front and back. But that is a pain to put socks on 8 paws everyday. I heard of Mushers Secret and read the label and I was sold! It is made to protect sledge dogs from frozen ice on their paws. But it Al's keeps dogs paws protected from hot asphalt.well my back yard doesn't have asphalt but cement gets hot too. It even says it is for horses hooves also. So this jar is 1 lb but I am going to purchase another jar for my horse as he needs this on his feet as well. His hooves dry out and crack so this product will solve that problem. Getting back to my dogs.....their paws are so soft now and my hands feel softer too since I rub it into their paws. They like the foot massages too. I swear by this product. So yesterday I oldest Boston had to see her vet to see why her neck was so sensitive. And yelped everytime I touched her. But while the vet tech was asking questions and taking her temp. I told her I had bought Mushers Secret for Veeza (14) and Cash's (12)paws. She said, "oh my gosh, I love Mushers Secret! I have used it on my old 16 year old do." So we talked about how great it is.

Really works, helped my dog's paws during this brutal winter. My dog is very fussy about his paws but he didn't mind me applying this. I am sure he would not tolerate boots so I thought I'd try this. I was concerned about the ice and snow hurting his feet and the winter temperatures have been unusually low this season. It definitely seems to have made a difference and my dog can stay outside longer without any visible discomfort. I was pleased to find there was no unpleasant odor or feel from the wax, easy to apply and not much residue. Maybe I applied a little much but it did leave some mild paw prints on wood floors but they're very easy to wipe and otherwise no residue anywhere I can tell on clothing or other surfaces. Also has the side benefit of helping my own dry winter hands after applying but very easy to wash off of hands too. Seems to last several days at least but I will be reapplying it every 3 days or so. I really like it, highly recommended for winter use.

After a week of using this I noticed a remarkable improvement on my dog's dry, cracked paws. She also seemed to be less bothered by the snow and immense amounts of salt on the sidewalks in our apartment complex. Putting it on her is an ordeal, though. I use a rubber glove to apply it a bit more easily - that way more of it gets onto her than onto me. She hates having her paws touched, especially her front ones, so even though we're giving her lots of treats it's a pain. But none of this is the products fault. The issue with the product, and the one reason I didn't give it five stars, is that the smell is incredibly strong. It's kind of floral and citrusy. I don't mind it, but my dog definitely does. When we're done she rolls around on my bed, rubbing her face on the blankets. Which is kind of irritating. I don't know if the smell is so strong because of important ingredients, or if they thought it was a nice perfume, but it's a real drawback when you're applying it to animals who have sensitive noses. Still, it does do the trick, especially if you can't get your dog to wear boots but live in an area where some sort of paw protection is needed.

This is perfect for my furbabies -- easily applied to their paws and helps them stay in great condition. Even our vet asked what we use, since their paws are as soft as a puppy's ! Since I found this, I will never switch to anything else !

This is an excellent product. After only 2 days of use, we noticed a big improvement in our dogs pads. This product has the consistency I would compare to Chap stick. Not greasy or gooey. No need for cleanup. I would highly recommend this product for your pet.

Wonderful remedy for your dog's cracked and scratchy foot pads. With one application there is a notable improvement. After 3 treatments your dog's pads become fine, soft and the dog feels more comfortable. My dog shows no interest in licking it off.

I bought this product because I have slippery wooden floors and an old dog who struggles to get a grip on it. I read a claim online that this product would help. It didn't make an ounce of difference. If anything it made the situation worse.

With the change of weather my poor pooches pads were so dry and cracked. Within a few days of double applications, you only need a small amount as it definitely goes a long way, his paws look and feel so much better, there are no rough patches anymore and his pads are nearly fully recovered. Once they are fully recovered i will apply 2-3 times a week to keep on top of them. Would highly recommend so glad i bought it and my pooch loves having the balm put on.

It was recommended to me and now My turn to recommend it. In this part of the world, dog’s paws (and particularly those rescued from the wild) cannot escape the burn and damage in their paws. But it feels so much better after the treatment. I like to apply it From time to time On the evening before sleep and to cover with socks in the morning. It does wonders and they never try to escape when they understand it is “foot care“ time.
