Works okay until it breaks or cover is opened.
I purchased my 18 months ago, a demo from the dealer. It was a dream until I decided to do an update to the motherboard, which I had purchased the correct internet cable from the manufacturer. Opening it was the biggest mistake ever, as the "update" from the manufacturer was defective and shorted my board. Off I sent it to the only USA repair center at a cost of $50, even though it was under warranty, as you have to pay the shipping to send it there. 6 weeks and no repair, finally it was fixed when the new board came. However, it arrived damaged, one wheel broken. Be forewarned that the insides are plastic, and not a strong plastic, and this means that this mower is not built like my former robomower to handle drops or tough work.At another cost of $50, I sent it back to the only USA repair shop. It was sent back "repaired", but the "repaired" wheel had the broken piece replaced with a different than original piece that is defective. I searched online and found a now defunct complaint blog where other lawnbott owners were complaining about their broken wheels being replaced with cheap plastic pieces. What this meant for me is that my mower which originally could climb and mow with power, now has a defective back wheel that slips constantly so I hear a click-click-click and it will get stuck repeatedly. On average, I have to "unstick" my mower about 50 to 80 times as it mows. You can bet I sent it back again, at another cost of $50. After another "repair" it came back with the same functionality.I was out $150 all from trying to "upgrade" my motherboard according to the manufacturer's instructions. If you buy this, I warn you to never never get tempted to do an "upgrade" or open it without cause as, at least mine, shorted with each opening. That is another thing, on the two additional times I was trying to trouble shoot the broken wheel for the tech, who is a nice guy, by the way, each time my motherboard would short, and that would mean another replacement of the motherboard. Since it was determined it was some kind of defect, it was all covered under the warranty. Now I still run my mower, but it is the hardest work ever as I have to supervise it and kick it to steer it as it has no remote. To put it this way, a visitor came to my yard, and he exclaimed, "Who the heck mows your lawn, as I would fire that guy!" because this mower has an imperfect pattern, and with the defect of the wheel, it leaves "mohawk" like strips that take 3 or 4 mowing sessions to get, at a time of 3 to 4 hours mowing each.Next mower I get will be a robomower as I originally had that is hardy, and electrolux repaired mine in the past, and it lasted over 10 years, same lawn. If you are not mechanically or electronically inclined, stay away from this mower, as it is very touchy and fragile inside.

We call ours "The Hobo"
Ok, allow me to first explain. We have a tendency to name our appliances such as we have a "Mr Tuttle" who is the Neato Robotic vacuum cleaner who takes care of cleaning house for us. "Mrs. Tuttle" who isn't real bright mops our floors, "Fred" the shop vac etc...and now we have "The HOBO".First, let me say, that if we hadn't already been impress with our "Mr Tuttle" we would have NEVER considered a robot lawnmower. As his name implies, The HOBO, is just that a HOBO! There seems to be no rhyme or reason to his mowing pattern, regardless of what it shows in the book. You will have to allow him to do approximately a 2,500 square feet area over the course of three days 4-5 hours each day, mowing, so in order to get the 5,500 sq feet of coverage, The Hobo, has to HOBO along 6 days each week to keep us from loosing your little Rat Terrier dog named Zoe.So, if you were expecting a robot to replace you having to doing all the lawn mowing and still do it in the same amount of time that you could do it yourself....KEEP MOWING IT YOURSELF you will be happier. However, if you are a elderly or disabled person who understands the "New Slow" of life it is PERFECT!We are writing a review of our Mr Tuttle next, and we will be telling you how we believe that if "Mr Tuttle" mapping designers could work in partnership with the designers of "The HOBO", you would have the ULTIMATE lawn mowing machine and this particular model would be big enough and have enough battery life to maintain our almost 2 acre estate only mowing 3 days per week/4-5 hours each day easily!

Robotic mowing for well-defined areas
This is the first robotic lawnmower I have purchased and I am generally pleased with its performance. In the 1 1/12 months that have I owned the product I have used it four times on our enclosed back yard lawn space. The lawnbot is very easy to operate as advertised. Just get it charged up, push the start button and let it go to work. It seems to continue mowing for about 3 to 4 hours before it needs to be re-charged. I have mostly let it out in the evening and let it operate through the night until it runs out of charge. The first mowing required some quick touch ups with a conventional gas powered mower but the last three times I did not feel any touch up was necessary although it could have used some minor touch up.You will have to protect your flower beds and gardens from being mowed over but we did this with pavers and inexpensive wire mesh fencing. I could not use the lawnbot in our small lawn area in our front yard which is narrow and borders a steep hill. But this is not a real problem for us due to the small size of the area. The device works well in our well defined and enclosed back yard area (~100 x 60 feet).I have cleaned the underside of the mower after each mowing, including removing the blade for cleaning a some light sharpening. I have some concern about the quality of some of the electrical junctions on wires leading to the charging clips but so far I have not had any issues. Time will tell. I can not testify about the longevity/durabiltiy of the device although for the price I paid (>$1000) I expect it to continue to operate for several years with only light maintenance.

Hot in Arizona worth every dollar
Before I ordered the Lawnbott, I owned a Robomower for 7 years, and was very happy. The Robomower went to lawn mower heaven. We live in Arizona where it gets very hot, so I knew I needed to replace it with a newer version. Pricing has gone way up compared to 7 years ago. So I decided to try the Lawnbott. Now after owning it a month, I have to say what a great improvement on the old technology. The robomover required 8 hours of yard prep, the lownbott required about 15 minutes of prep. It stays in the yard and works very well, runs of a full 5 hours, and recharges in about 12 hours. It is light weight and easy to carry from the front to the back yard. I would highly recommend the Lawnbott for anyone with a yard smaller than 5000 square feet.
