Perfect soft serve ice cream
I absolutely love this machine. It makes perfect soft serve ice cream, milkshakes and slushies. I haven't tried all the functions or recipes but the ones I've tried are great. I will say do NOT add the amount of salt they have listed on the ice cream recipe or you will have a very salty ice cream. We did that for the first one and it was gross, but only added a pinch the next time and it was amazing. It is very easy to use and all things considered does not take very long to make your treat. It also has a self cleaning functioning that makes cleaning it so easy and it's not too loud in my opinion. It was expensive but is a high quality product and also looks cute.

Easy to use, pretty pink color, & versatile!
I ordered the strawberry pink Frost Ice Cream Machine & Frozen Drink Maker and it’s the perfect pale, soft pink. This is great for making homemade frozen treats like dairy-free soft serve, custom ice cream, sorbet, milkshakes, smoothies, frozen cocktails, and more in as little as 15 minutes. There are 6 modes and 7 texture settings, so you can customize everything from light and fluffy to thick and creamy. Its 2-quart capacity is perfect for parties or families. The Simple Clean mode makes it easy to clean. I love that the Frost gives you total ingredient control, so you can create lower-sugar, high-protein, or dairy-free frozen desserts to your liking. This was definitely worth the purchase!

Works on keto with some tweaks
I really hesitated on buying this. I didn't know if I could justify the cost for something that just makes treats. Especially since I try to stay keto. I did some research and bought this along with some allulose syrup and guar gum. It's been fun playing around with the amounts of each addition, but I have gotten some really good soft serve and slushies. The first thing I made was some real margaritas with a margarita mix and it was restaurant quality (not keto 😉). Then I wanted some soft serve so I used one prepared keto chow shake, four teaspoons of allulose syrup and a teaspoon and a half of guar gum. The consistency for soft serve was perfect and it didn't taste too sweet. I've tried those ratios many times and it doesn't always work. You just have to keep tweaking it. I also tried sparkling ice bottled drinks with about two teaspoons of allulose syrup and got really good slushies. But again two teaspoons doesn't always work. Sometimes it's too frozen and sometimes it's not frozen enough. The nice thing with the allulos syrup is you can add it while it's churning. I'm glad I spent the money because I imagine I will be using this almost every day during the summer. I haven't had too much trouble with the cleanup. I use the clean function on the machine and then I usually take it apart and just give it a quick rinse and wipe down. No big deal. I do you have some concerns about how long this will last because everything is plastic except for the handle. So far it feels sturdy but plastic doesn't always have a long life span. All things considered I am very happy with this machine and I would highly recommend.

I cracked 2 bowls in 4 weeks. Defective product. See other similar reviews.
I can show you more photos of the two cracked bowls. I had to take them in order to get them replaced. After the 2nd one I was offered yet another bowl, but they are out so it was going to be 2 months waiting. I can tell you why they are out, because they break. My first broke in the 2nd week of use, the second broke after 2 uses. I see there are others with the same issue, not sure how anyone doesn't have this issue, unless the seal portion on some units pulls tighter. I heard mine crack when I put it on. With all my going back and forth with GreenPan on the warranty and replacements I missed the return window. The vendor and Amazon understood that I tried to get this fixed and refunded me my money. BUT, here is my issue, this would be an amazing product, the ice cream, the slushies, the lemonade slushies, margaritas were great. There was no competitor (until 2 weeks ago) that had a compressor and could do all these types of items. Seriously, I and my AI friends searched and searched, until just last week a competitor emerged with a very similar product, which we ordered. Last notes on this, the bowl has a double wall, and water gets in that wall during use and washing, there is only a door at the bottom to let water out, so the inside gets wet and cloudy and starts to look bad. No way to clean it. Until this bowl is fixed, I recommend you not buy this. FYI, I have done 3000+ reviews and only a few times have I said, do not buy. Hopefully they get a new bowl, this could be a great product.

So fast, easy to clean and quiet
If you’re looking for a versatile frozen treat maker, the GreenPan Frost is a game-changer. This sleek, modern appliance isn’t just for making homemade ice cream – it also creates smoothies, milkshakes, slushies, and even healthy frozen treats for your dog. The clean button was super easy but you can take the bowl off and rinse in the sink after super quick. The pink color is super cute and so different than what’s out there. My soft serve came out perfect and I like that I can do both soft serve and harder ice cream. I also did a fruit sorbet and it was perfect! Up next is an espresso martini!

This is the one
Purchased this product; and also the Ninja Swirl thinking I would do a comparison myself on how close to good soft serve each machine could produce. Caught both on special so the price of each was almost identical. Also bought some Dole Orange Soft Serve Mix (here on Amazon) to try out the machines. Used a Dole recipe I found online (started with 1 cup of Dole mix) and instead of the 3 cups of water in this recipe, I used 2 cups water and 1 cup whole milk. Mixed it in a large measuring cup with a whisk. Into the Greenpan the mix went; and started the machine on the default L4 setting for soft serve. (UPDATE: Later batches I used 1 cup heavy cream instead of the 1 cup whole milk to make it creamier; and set the machine to L5) All I can say is WOW....it was perfect. Dispensed into pre-chilled bowls and what a treat it was. The quantity of mix using the 1-cup Dole recipe was too much for two people (we ate it until we couldn't any more lol). Leftovers went into a pre-chilled glass container with an airtight cover and into the freezer. Next day I had orange sorbet....yum. Next was vanilla soft serve...2 cups whole milk, 3/4 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tbsp instant vanilla pudding mix powder, and 2 tsp vanilla extract. Tasty! I did bump up the cold setting to L5 to get it a little more firm. And might use slightly less vanilla extract next time. Experimentation is part of the fun. While some recipes include adding salt, I don't add salt to any of the mixes I've made. Turns out I never opened the Ninja Swirl box...it went back to the store. The Greenpan was that good. Who wants to wait 24 hours to satisfy a frozen treat craving? And what do I do with the store-bought ice cream I had in the freezer? Decisions, decisions. VERY IMPORTANT - Since this unit has an internal compressor, upon initial delivery; or if the unit has been placed on its side for any period of time, it must be allowed to sit upright for AT LEAST 2 hours (the longer the better) before turning on, to allow the compressor oil to flow back down into the bottom of the compressor. If not done, the compressor can be damaged and will significantly shorten its life. Also, I would recommend to not lift the machine by grabbing the plastic mixing chamber or the handle - it will put pressure on the slots that hold the mixing chamber onto the machine and might break them, causing a leak. So far I've made two batches of Dole mix (pineapple and orange), two batches of vanilla soft serve and one chocolate soft serve in the span of about 10 days. I'm gonna get fat lol........

Easy and inexpensive to run.
I was feeling nostalgic last year from when I was on submarines. We always had soft serve ice cream available. I bought a ninja creami. And it worked ok. But a lot of effort making the ice cream ahead of time. Then running the machine to churn it. Finally putting the pint container on the plunger to serve. After the cone. You have to put the ice cream back in the freezer. Clean the machine A lot of work for a cone. This machine allows you to mix the ice cream and serve in 30 minutes. I had a learning curve of course. I ues frostline mix. 1 cup to 16oz water. On l6. I then can enjoy several cones (not that good for my waistline) an afternoon or evening. The clean up is easy. So far I am very pleased. The other machine is in the garage.

Temperature on the Freeze?
So far we have only used the ice cream setting, however, we have much to say about that. We LOVE the convenience (no need to pre-freeze 24 hrs in advance), the easy cleanup, (literally just need to wipe down the inside of the machine as needed and clean the container), and the taste of the results! But…the functionality and resulting texture leaves A LOT to be desired. I would even say the value for the money would be decent if only the texture would come out right. We have made “ice cream” three times. The first time I added only milk and it came out as a mid tasting ice milk that was soft in the middle and frozen on the edges closest to the container. The 2nd time I added 1 spoonful of cream and it froze in a block of slushy ice. We had to dig the stirrer out. Last night we tried a third time and I added two tbsp of cream. This time the center remained completely liquid. The outer section froze the stirrer in a block of ice milk so badly that it stopped stirring and all the cane sugar was at the bottom of the container. I would think that maybe we are doing something wrong, but there are no instructions or recipes included to help get the measurements correct… and at this point I’m unsure if the issue is incorrect measurements or if something is off with the temperature of the machine. Because it freezes so badly we have even decided to not put the stirrer in next time. This way we figured it would be easier to dig out the block of “ice milk cream.” The next time we make it, I will try to remember to take pictures of each step so I can update this post with them.
