Very nice travel brush!
Higher quality travel brush made from synthetics that perform similarly to natural hairs but are definitely stiffer and hold less water. If you’re accustomed to synthetics and are looking for a nice travel brush then you’ll be pleased with this item. It’s very sleek and attractive, as well as light weight and balanced. It has an air hole at the end of the cap to protect the brush from mold and mildew, should you mistakenly cap it while still wet. Holds a nice point. Performs well, especially for details. No shedding or misshaped bristles. Good value

Perfect for watercolor small/medium details and long brush strokes
Excellent brush, the size 10 is big but has a nice tip, perfect for small/medium details, long brush strokes as well, holds water really well, retain its shape after using it, easy to clean, easy to use, very comfortable while holding it, can't go wrong buying it for watercolor painting

I love this long-tipped, animal-friendly paint brush for watercolors & lettering
I use synthetic brushes from several different brush manufacturers in my work. I'm am an artist and illustrator who frequently works with ink, watercolor and goauche. Recently, the Escoda Versatil has my favorite overall brush for watercolor and ink, as it just has this perfect balance between springiness and color carrying capacity. The performance is very close to that of a sable brush, but without the unnecessary animal cruelty and at a much more affordable price for the quality it provides. It's everything I want in a watercolor brush and nothing that I don't. Perfect! I use the rigger size 0 round I recently purchased on Amazon to paint long thin lines in some of my illustrations. It holds more paint than a short-tipped round of the same size, so I can make longer strokes before running out of paint. I tend to opt for shorter tipped rounds when working on fine details, but when I need longer strokes than they can provide, the rigger is my go-to. This is also an excellent brush choice when doing hand-lettering. That is a skill I am always working to develop and I think this brush makes that job easier for me. That's exactly what a good tool should do, right? I highly recommend the Escoda Versatil line for watercolor and ink painting (just ask me what I think of the travel brushes *drool*) and the size 0 rigger for painting long, fine strokes. As a side note, the Escoda Prado line is also excellent. It holds an excellent point (slightly better than the Versatil), at a trade-off of carrying a bit less paint. So, the Versatil brushes are usually my primary brushes, but I often mix in Prados when I'm painting fine details - something I do quite often. If you have any questions I can help answer, feel free to leave a comment below. :)

Great travel watercolor brush
Love this brush. High quality and keeps its point. Snappy and firm- more like Sable and not like squirrel

Solid choice, would give it 4.5 stars if possible
Quality fiber, pleasing handling, solid build quality. Probably the best travel brush I've used. Chose the "Versatil" based on video reviews, and am satisfied with the flex/spring and carrying capacity. A bit pricey, but optimistic that it'll be worth the money in the long run. Also wish it were a bit more compact. There's a question about whether this brush will fit in a Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolor travel box, which for some reason I can't answer above, so I'll chime in here: Unfortunately no, a size 4 round is just barely too thick to sink into the compartment deeply enough for the lid to close as-is. (Measured the brush diameter at about 8.5 mm. Also measured the width of the Cotman pocket box brush holder compartment, at around 8 mm.) However, if you're willing to sand out the compartment to make it about a millimeter wider/deeper, at least a size 4 brush will fit snugly and the lid will close. The length fits easily regardless.

Fabulous brush, but no natural.
I also have the Escoda Optimo travel brush set which are real kolinsky but wanted a separate one to go inside my metal pocket palette for daily art journaling. This Versatil #8 fits perfectly in it and I won't feel precious about abusing natural hair brushes. Because in my humble opinion this doesn't replace natural kolinsky but it's great to use. It does have a great snap, keeps its point, and holds plenty of water but not quite as much as real kolinsky and it's not as soft (which for my purpose it's exactly what I need). It's also the most handsome looking brush on the market!!! Love how the bristles mimic the wood detail, and against the chrome- beautiful. It shouldn't matter what your art supplies look like, but I love the qualities and quality of this brush. In the photo the wood grain and bristles are a little darker in the photo than in reality. the paint strokes in the second photo are with Daniel Smith watercolors.

Everyone has there own personal choices and recommendations when it comes to brushes - every artist whose written a book will tell you that their own brushes are the best you can buy, and they do all their paintings with nothing else. I have bought, used, and thrown away (or donated in some instances), what seems to be endless amounts of them and I never thought I would say this about any brush, but this one is absolutely awesome ! When people put that it made all the difference to their work I wasn't really sure that they were serious. I'm a sceptical person & when people rave on about stuff, I always assume they are getting paying for the review, but how wrong could I be ! Here are the reasons why ; This brush is a dream to work with. The point is absolutely perfect. It holds loads of paint. There is NO hair loss. It retains it's shape. It's easy to clean. The hairs seem to glide over the paper. It's got a lovely spring to it when you push down on the paper. You can do very fine to very thick lines equally as easily while varying the pressure. It's now my "go to brush" I never thought a brush could make so much difference to how you paint but this does. I am not a professional, just an amateur, but this really has made such a difference to my watercolour paintings - it's like suddenly a light bulb has been switched on and things I couldn't master before I can now accomplish with ease. I could maybe say that suddenly practice and perseverance have paid off, but the timing would be miraculous - if it's not the brush that has made the difference than I'm a monkeys uncle ! It's lovely to hold in your hand, is perfectly balanced and is brilliant to work with. I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to try it and see what a joy it is to use. I've now been using it for 8 weeks and there has been no hair loss, it still has the most perfect point and the brush is still a treat to work with. A totally brilliant brush, an all rounder that does everything you ask of it and more. * I have now had this brush for 22 months and it's still working like I had just bought it. The "bounce" is still in it, the hairs have not deteriorated at all which I find amazing, and I still haven't lost 1 single solitary hair from the ferule. That's something I have never been able to say about any other brush I have ever owned. This brush has been the best purchase I have ever made for my art and I cannot recommend it enough. If I could give it a hundred stars I would do.

Expensive, slow to arrive, but worth it . Great line of brushes, made in Spain, wish I could afford to buy more.

Pazienza.
