This lens is made exceptionally well. Feels like a legitimate lens you would buy a DSLR mirrorless camera. It's not that wide, but it is long and a good bit of weight for its size. The included in phone mount is serviceable and does the job but this lens excels when you attach it to a better mount or a phone case that has an integrated 17 mm filter thread. It's relatively easy to use, but because the flange distance of everyone's phone will be random they make it so that the focus can go beyond infinity to cover any area of separation distance from your camera lens. So learning where to set the manual focus is a tad bit of a learning curve, but it's easily picked up after shooting for a couple minutes. To many folks this lens might not seem like a better outright solution to use than just your camera by itself, but at least from my use case with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, it really shines in 100 megapixel mode. In other modes like telephoto or macro you don't get 100 megapixel of shooting you only get 12. So using this external lens using the 100 megapixel, 1x lens gets you exceptionally better telephoto and macro quality. If you want to go birding or another activity with slower moving subjects, this lens gives you the ability to lock in great shots for a much better value than a full-on interchangeable camera setup.

This is a professional piece of equipment; it's very heavy and very high quality. You can tell the moment you touch it and pick it up that this is a serious piece of equipment. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work. I looked at the instructions, and the instructions are horrible. It's like a simple little six-step guide, "oh, attach it to your phone," but it doesn't attach very well to your phone. I think you might need a special phone case that has a spot for you to screw it in. I think you need a phone case or some other piece or attachment because, using the included clip, I tried for like 20 minutes to get it to be centered directly over my lens, and I just couldn't figure it out. It didn't really fit my phone. I tried each of my lenses, but I just couldn't get it to work, and the instructions suck, so it's not easy to use at all. It is definitely portable-- I'd probably get/use a special case for something like this because it would be awful for a lens like this to be thrown around your bag. The lens itself is incredible quality. An incredible, high-quality piece of equipment is great, but if you don't know how to use it, it doesn't really help you with anything. I think they should try to make some new instructions or at least let us know in the product listing that we might need another piece of equipment, so unforatunately I wasn't able to really even get an idea what kind of image quality it offers, but it seemed very clear when I looked through it with my naked eye, but couldn't determine how wide the angle was possible.

I was really excited about this, but it’s got some really annoying flaws which ruin it for me. It’s super super heavy, which makes it really difficult to use and keep your phone steady. it’s weight also makes you have to clamp it down really firmly to your phone, so much so that it caused the screen to warp down, which makes me super nervous that it will crack my screen. It came with a nice case But Only the lens fits in the case!? The clamp that attaches it to your phone has no way of safely being stored without putting it all into another case that you provide at your own expense 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 For an item at this high price point, it should ALL neatly fit into its own custom case Period! It’s also not user friendly at all, pieces have to be removed for it to go between macro and micro, and it also says Nothing about this in its included directions. It’s instruction manual is awful and has almost nothing useful in it. It kinda works ok, if you can keep it still enough and you figure out how to switch its lenses between micro and macro— and that you need to fit the clamp to you phone before you try to attach the lens.. All in all not worth it for the expense and I would not recommend this this product.

I was excited to try the Neewer 7X Telephoto and 10X Macro Lens set, and while it has potential, the performance was a bit mixed. The build quality feels solid, and the lenses come in secure packaging with a protective clip that attaches easily to most phones. The glass looks high quality, and the included accessories give it a professional look. When it works well, the telephoto lens captures clear and detailed shots, especially in good lighting. The macro lens also produces nice close-up results with crisp focus on small objects. However, the results are inconsistent. Even a small misalignment can cause blurriness or distortion around the edges. It also takes a bit of time to position the lens perfectly over the phone camera, and any slight movement can affect focus. This kit is fun for experimenting and casual photography, but it may not satisfy someone expecting DSLR-like sharpness or fast shooting performance. Overall, it’s a decent value for beginners or hobbyists, but you’ll need patience to get consistently good results.

If you're getting this lens, skip the included clip. It’s too heavy and won’t stay put unless you tighten it hard. That puts pressure on the screen and camera glass. I wasn’t comfortable with that. I got a case with a 17mm adapter right after. I went with a Neewer and a SmallRig case, but the latter needs a 17mm adapter. I’ve seen other reviews saying this lens doesn’t work with newer phones or can’t focus because it keeps switching lenses. Just turn off macro mode when it does switch. The biggest problem is the freaking clip. It keeps sliding. Make sure you're using the main lens and not changing focal length at first until you got the clip right in center of the lens. Then you can experiment with different focal lengths. The lens looks basic in the photos, but don’t be fooled. It’s solid. All metal with glass inside. Feels premium. You get both a 7x telephoto and a 10x macro lens. Use them with the main camera on the iPhone 16 Pro Max (bottom camera) for the best quality. Neewer recommends shooting at 1.1x zoom, but I had no problem at 1x. Great option if you want to try real photography before jumping to mirrorless or DSLR. Perfect for trips to the zoo. No heavy gear. Just your phone in one pocket and the lens in the other. Also bring a tripod if you are achieving blurry photos even with abundance sunlight. The image quality is good for mobile photography, but you can tell the difference right away when compared to a 70-200mm lens on a full-frame camera. That’s expected. The bokeh isn’t as soft or rounded, and the sharpness is toned down. There might be even places you don't want blur, but get blurred anyway. Depending on your taste, that might actually work for you. I don’t expect much from a phone camera no matter what lens I put on, but I’m pretty impressed that I can get such quality zoomed-in shots at a fraction of the price. To the untrained eyes, your images will look amazing. Since you’re getting extreme bokeh and compression thanks to the telephoto properties, your shots will stand out. Pros * All metal construction. * Comes with 7x telephoto and 10x macro. * Includes cloth and padded case. A very nice padded case. * Feels solid and well built. Improvements * It’s heavy. * No thread for filters or lens caps (it comes with silicone caps). * No tripod mount. * The clip is not great and can shift and might damage the phone screen or camera lens. This is a great mobile lens once you ditch the clip and use a 17mm case. It’s sharp, compact, and worth it if you want to level up your mobile photography.
