Building a custom storage bed, I needed struts that could lift the mattress and base without fighting me every time. These do exactly that. The 100lb struts hold everything up with no effort on the way up. Pulling it back down takes more force than I expected, but that's probably my fault for going too heavy on the weight rating. Comes with mounting brackets, which made the install quick. If you're building a lift-up storage bed or any kind of hatch, these are a solid pick. Just size down on the rating if your lid isn't all that heavy.

These gas struts are seriously impressive. I used them on a heavy RV bed platform, and they lift it smoothly with almost no effort. The strength is exactly as advertised, and the build quality feels premium with solid steel construction that looks like it will last for years. Installation was straightforward with the included brackets and clear instructions. I had everything set up in about 20 minutes using just a screwdriver. Installed them on my side by side. Holds the door open even on a hill.

I wanted to mount the struts on the inside of a 4'x 8' service window to prevent exterior exposure and vandelism. The directions didn't really apply to that but with one error and more thought they installed and work great.

Used on camping trailer hatch. Excellent strut. Hatch weighs about 37 lbs and these were just right.

These are strong, and well made. Last ones lasted 20 years on RV garage doors. These should last as long.

Worked really nice for a rabbit hutch top so my daughter has no problem opening it.

I also received a pair of evidently over extended units. I too was hoping for a better lift assist in a motorhome under bed storage. My units appeared new and undamaged. I was unable to compress either unit but the instruction sheet said that could be true. Installed the 1 new unit and dropped the bed down. It shut down easily but broke the cheezy 'bego wood strip. Removed, reinstalled old worthless unit and tossed into my pile of worthless unreturnable amazon items. Bought in winter so the return window closed. Will try another unit from somewhere else! They looked nice. Would have used one and had the other for a spare!

These worked beautifully on our cover lift to our Beachcomber 750 Hot Tub. I highly recommend these shocks.
