Skar Audio 8" Universal Metal Subwoofer Grill Cover | SKGRL8

Focal does not ship a grill with their astronomically priced subs. Oh well. I was not too confident when I ordered this, but hey Amazon returns are so easy... Verdict: it fits my Focal P 24 FSE shallow Flax. The thing you need to know is that the rubber ring provided is a tiny bit to large for Focal screw hole overall diameter. But the screws do not hold the ring down. Its the subwoofer metal frame that presses down on the ring that does. So basically it's kind of a weird thing, but functionally and esthetically is 10/10. Install wise - Well take your time, pre-drill holes in your box and you'll be fine. Once the sub is secure, the ring will expand a few mm and the grill will fit perfect. I would bet it fits most of Focal 10 inch subs. The product is well made, seems vibration-detering and i'm very happy with it. The grill is sturdy, and even a 7-iron direct side hit would not hurt the actual sub. I took the Skar sticker provided and burned it, I would not want to be caught dead with it.

I previously stated great design, horrible installation design. I take it back, the horrible part was "operator" error, meaning me. Apologies to SKAR Audio. Good fit, very high excursion. Buy it if you need it!!!

I purchased both the 10" and 12" Skar Audio grills. The 10" grill wasn’t dented, but it did cave in a little when I first tried installing it. I was able to push it back out from the inside with no problem. The 12" grill feels more solid and rigid overall. Installation can be a bit tricky. I used a smooth plastic trim tool (panel popper shaped like a small crowbar) to slightly open the grooves while pressing the grill down, and that made the process much easier. Both grills look great on my 1.0 cu ft and 1.2 cu ft sealed enclosures. As for the Skar stickers, I’m not sure if they’re meant for the grill or for glass, but I put them on the grills anyway. After removing the clear transfer film, it feels like the decal might peel off over time from vibration and normal wear.

I should have read the other reviews. This Skar grille does not even work with their own SDR loaded sub boxes. I should have known it wouldn't fit when I had to bow it slightly into an oval to test fit it between the top and bottom lip of the SDR box prior to installation. Skar has mounted their SDR subs in a recessed ring on their SDR loaded boxes. This ring is smaller than it should be to accommodate this grille. Yes, you can force the rubber mounting ring into the recessed area, but then it is impossible to put the metal grille into the slot. Forcing the rubber ring it there causes the slot diameter to be too small for the metal grille. As others have mentioned, if Skar had flush-mounted the subwoofer instead of recess-mounted, this would have worked. Alternatively, Skar could have made the front of the box just 1/4-1/2 inch taller and the recessed mount area a little larger diameter and this grille would have worked. Honestly, it should just come with the loaded box...then Skar would know it is impossible to install on their box.

Rapid shipping on a great value and quality product. I would highly recommend to all. Easy installation. Just remove existing rubber and add new rubber, then pry in the grill with the tool that’s included.

These 8" woofer grills fit perfectly for DB DRIVE WDX8G0 subs. You have to remove the subwoofer mounting gasket and use the grill gasket.

Should have read the other reviews because they are not ment for skar sub boxes with a countersunk subwoofer. I made it work because I couldn’t find a better speaker cover. This is a very solid speaker cover. It keeps the speaker very protected.
