Hard to find earbuds with good audio quality that have a volume control. This cable/control solves that problem. Fits standard pin plug earphone jacks. Seems to work fine with most setups. Shipped pretty quickly and at a good price.

I am absolutely gobsmacked. I got a new iPhone and the minimum volume was noticeably and painfully louder than my previous model. With my most treasured and comfortable over-ear headphones, I couldn’t bear how loud the volume was. I’m neurodivergent and have excellent hearing so 7% volume (the minimum my headphones would do with my iPhone 15) caused immediate sensory overload. My spouse suggested I buy these analog volume controls. I’d seen several reviews raving about making volume louder but only one regarding it being softer so I was skeptical. Imagine my delight, surprise, and relief that they work to make the volume lower!! Like, WAY lower if I want. I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase and recommend for anyone who’s looking for a quieter audio experience.

Yes, I’m a professional DJ and yes, I googled. Is there a headphone cable (and you could try it yourself you’ll see it says it does not exist) is there a headphone cable that has the ability to control the volume of what you’re listening to? The answer was simply no this device does not exist. Yet here it is. lol I said to myself, there’s no way that somebody didn’t invent this. My auxiliary button on my mixer went out so on Amazon I bought a mini mixer that came with a headphone jack, but unfortunately, and I didn’t notice this when I bought the mini mixer. The headphone jack does not have any volume control. I need that so when I am mixing out of whatever it’s plugged into the auxiliary, I can lower the volume and hear what the next song is on the other side of the mixer and mix it in smoothly if that doesn’t make sense to you I’m sorry I guess you have to be a DJ to know what I’m talking about. People say why don’t you just lower the volume on the mixer but then that lower the volume for the whole audience why don’t you just lower the volume on the mini mixer again it lowers the volume for the whole audience you can’t do that you have to have the music playing at the regular sound and when you mix the next song in it just sounds smooth. You can’t do that if you can’t hear what the next song is and this makes that possible. The fact that it was only $6.95 was amazing. What’s even more astounding is that you don’t get one, but you get two of them. They are not that thick. I wish the wires were a little bit thicker. I would’ve paid more for that, but I still gave it five stars because you get two of them for that price. I’m probably gonna buy another two or three sets because I have had a tendency in the past to walk away from the DJ booth and forget to take off my headphones and I know in that situation they probably will break so as long as I have another pair right there, I’m good and for that price it’s definitely worth it so they do exist and I definitely recommend them if you’re having a similar situation to what I did. Problem solved Amazon to the rescue again whoever invented it I’m not sure who it was but thank you very much. Oh, and you may want to contact Google and let them know that your invention does exist and have a point to it on Amazon or wherever else you choose just a piece of advice

It seems to work, but not for my intended purposes, by no fault of the manufacturer. The dial is stiff, so that it doesn't drift by a slight touch and throw things out of whack. It holds its place. I intended to use it to lower the volume of my RCA mixer outputs before the signal gets to my recorder. It didn't do what I wanted it to do. I may have to try an attenuator cable. But this thing does what it is intended to do. An auxiliary volume control.
