Poor quality
I couldn’t adjust the poles at all, Called customer service they weren’t much help, had to hammer all the clamps tight. Now it works. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t buy again.

This is the best pole to use on older wall tents
This style of pole is very hard to find now anywhere. I have a military wall tent and these poles are what I am using to replace older poles as the fail.

Some do not hold well.
I have purchased 8 of these, for my awnings on the sides of my truck shell. I finally had a chance to use them this weekend and unfortunately 4 of them do not hold well. They slowly slide down. Extremely disappointing... I wanted to love these. The idea is great, just needs some rethinking, I think. Not going to return, because I don't want to keep going through the hassle if others do the same (because i have so many). But I have read that their returns go well.

Getting spares
Used these poles for over 15 years for a tarp system while camping. Getting a few spares just in case something happens to the originals.

Awsome!
These poles work great if you know how to anchor them properly. We have 3 of these poles and after a full summer and fall of camping they show very little wear. No rust on them and we store them on our patio all winter in the rain! These poles have totally outlasted the heavy duty idustrial tarp we got to go with them. The locking rings did bend a bit the first time we set up our shelter but that turned out to be a good thing. With that little bend they actually stay telescoped out with no problem at all! The trick with any shelter is knowing how to set it up the right way. When there are higher winds add more anchor lines! Lots of rain, you need a peak in your roof so the rain dosnt gather and pull your shelter in on itself. Overall we love these tarp poles! They are a wonderfully useful addition to our camping gear!

They need to rust a bit before use
even a light wind and they collapse , one guys says that they hold better once they rust a bit. Guess I will wait and see if that helps since they are unusable now . There must be some way to get these to hold better.Edit to say that after leaving them outside in the elements for a year they work much better.Added two stars

They work but don't get them wet!
We bought these for our vintage camper at the recommendation of our awning maker but after having them for awhile, not terribly impressed. The first time they got wet they corroded very badly. They aren't real sturdy but do that job. They do collapse down to easier storage. I personally wouldn't recommend them but if you do get them, make sure that if they get wet you dry them off before storing. Once they rust/corrode it looks horrible and gets all over your hands when setting them up.

Held up just fine
Great for the price. This item was not as sturdy as other poles I have used, however, I did not have any issues with them not maintaining the load of my tarp I used during a recent camping trip. In a rain and wind event they held just fine!
