The bridge is best !!!!!
Third set I have purchased in a month as gifts for the three 3 year olds in my life. My favorite go to first train set or as an add on pack. The main reason is the bridge is easy for little ones to put together and sturdy and the figure 8 is much more interesting than a circle ( it can be made into a circle as well). This type of bridge was my kids favorite over 25 years ago and even when they got older and had more complex parts, this bride was always included in their set ups. The price point is perfect, quality is great, the packaging efficient.Let Amazon ship it to your destination, I made the mistake of having it shipped to my house and then carried three sets on the airplane, one set doesn't weigh much, but start putting three in your carry on....

Perfect for a train table or even to play with on the floor
We purchased a used train table and trains, but no tracks. These were a perfect match! Our 1 year old especially likes the bridge/ramps, and they continue to be quite durable despite him throwing the pieces sometimes. I have not noticed any rough edges. The neutral color of the wood looks great, and I like that it is bare wood and not painted, as we all know that would have chips eventually. Very satisfied with our purchase!

Great train track.
So well made and a great gift for my grandson. He absolutely loves playing with this.

Good train
The train fits under the bridge and seems well made. My only problem is that one piece has ball joints instead of the flat cut outs but it doesn’t matter to my toddler. The train runs smoothly. It just looks odd.

Decent Train Set, The Circle Animal One is Better for Initial Fine Motor Work
I actually struggled with rating this train track set. It is one of two track sets I bought to use with our son over a year ago, who has some rather specialized needs and some serious fine motor challenges. I actually would put it at a 4.5, but that's not an option on the star system. So for us, this isn't the set we use as much, because a couple of the pieces are harder to put together, and the order is more difficult for my son to figure out. The other Melissa and Doug set is just a circle, so it was a much better option for working on his fine motor track assembly skills in the beginning.Interestingly enough, my daughter, who is nearly 6 years older then our son, thinks this particular track is fun to play with. So I think this one because of it's slight extra degree of complexity would appeal to a wider age range. And on this one, the engine is way cooler looking then on the other Melissa and Doug set we bought. They actually fight over who gets to have it...he usually only wants to turn it upside down and spin the wheels, but we're working on that. I will have to say this one will always have a fond place in my heart though because it's the first train set he actually moved the train along the tracks on, and I think it was because of the hill, he thought it was funny to watch the train coast down, so it motivated him more to use it on a functional level. So for us, this one is mostly positive, but because some of the pieces are harder to fit together, it's not quite a 5 star product in our house, but I think that has a useful place in the future for his targeted therapy goals, so it's not entirely a bad point. I'm just thinking the ends are supposed to be cut to go together smoothly.

Easy for little ones to put together
It was very easy for my two year old and five year old son to fit together. Worth every penny. It all fits easily into a drawer on the play table. All of my kids have fun playing with this together. So far, it has lasted well. We added this to an existing set.
