SHARP / WELL WEIGHTED / BALANCED
I tried this knife on a lemon that the skin was a little tough from too many days in a basket. Just the weight to the knife went right through the skin and the entire lemon like butter. Little early to review. Anxious to see how long it stays sharp. Had a similar knife that got stuck in a water melon. That is when i started researching and this has great reviews and it lived up to them so far. Price is not cheap but affordable. I would recommend this knife. Sharp knives are safer than dull knives they say. and after wrestling a dull knife out of a watermelon, I can say I was extremely careful but could see that the potential of getting sliced or even stabbed. Every wiggle wiggle wiggle to free it, i’m thinking NEW KNIFE! And this was a very good choice. I also ordered the same line bread knife. Anxious to get a Loaf of sour dough. Im tired of shattering the crust and squishing the loaf with my death grip while I shred it up with my dull knife. Like anything else, you're only as good as your equipment.

Great Knife - Glad I Bought It
I recently stayed at a short-term rental property and they had this knife. I used it and was immediately impressed with the quality. I purchased it and have used it twice. So far so good. The only even better thing would be if it came with a sheath. It is very sharp. I ended up sewing a felt sheath to protect the knife and me. Happy with my purchase.

Liked it as a user with no functional issues; not as good for impaired grip
When I purchased this knife several months ago, I was looking for a lighter chef's knife for routine use, over my old 8" Cutco (bought from an intern decades ago). At the time of the Chikara purchase I was a senior user with no functional issues. The Chikara did a good job, and the round handle was reasonably comfortable and worked for me. Since then, I've developed some grip strength and pain issues, and the knife is not as suitable. Ironically, I miss the weight and the more blade-forward balance of my old knife, as well as the grip-type handle (did a direct comparison between the two cutting celery today). I would say that the Chikara is an useful knife for the right person, and you can't beat the price. Ideally, try it out first before committing. Using a honing rod regularly makes a noticeable difference.

Super sharp
I bought this to replace one my mother-in-law gave me that mysteriously disappeared. It's just as sharp as the one I had for years. The only thing I'd change would be having a thicker handle. That's a personal preference as I have arthritis, but it's a wonderful knife worth every penny. Unless this one meets the fate of my previous one, I expect it will last for decades.

chikara Ginsu knife
There nothing to dislike about these knife, love them. I lost my paring knife and just needed a new one. I wouldn't use other knifes. There might be some more expensive ones out there, but Chikara Ginsu knife do the job better then most! Great knife.

Great knife at any price, spectacular at this price...
These are real professional knives, not the toys that were sold on TV in the 80's.Great balance and weight, sharpens to a razor edge and holds it well throughout your task and into the next one (anyone who cooks and cuts professionally or regularly knows that you should touch up the edge before each task). The price is what throws this knife into its own galaxy where few others can compete with it. Hands down the absolute best knife I've ever used for the money, and value aside, it's excellent. Simple common care (wipe both sides in a towel when you put it down in between cutting, and hand wash then towel dry when done) keeps it in perfect health.

Wow!
I purchased two pairing knifes, and what a surprise, cuts through steak, like butter. I feel like throwing all my knifes away, and buy a new set of these knifes, nice handle easy to hold and blade is sharp. Great price and valve!

Another excellent Ginsu blade...
I've wanted one of these Chinese cleavers for quite awhile. I finally treated myself and got this one. I've had Ginsu Chikara series knives since 2014. I loved them from the start. So it was natural to stay in the family. The Chikara cleaver (like all the others), while feeling substantial, is actually light for its size. Put that to good materials and excellent balance in the hand. My hand has never felt tired or crampy after using the cleaver, no matter the task. It does come sharp as hell, holds that edge, & resharpens well when needed. But since the most dangerous tool in a kitchen is a dull knife, this Ginsu Chikara cleaver is very safe.
