Zoo Med Natural Grassland Tortoise Food

My torts love this stuff. I periodically change their food, and I always come back to this one. I like to spray it with a little bit of water so soften it up. It softens very quickly and my torts eat it up. It provides good nutrition for them and I know this is a good quality brand because I can get it at major pet stores near me too.

of tortoise pellets...however I cannot get my baby Hermann's tortoise to eat this. I soak it for 10 mins in water and then break it up with tweezers and have tried to give that and only that to my baby tortoise but he refuses to eat it. I've also mixed it with bokchoy that he loves and runs for, again will not eat it. Tried mixing with Mazuri and other pellets he likes, still will not eat. It's a shame because these pellets are the most healthy choice of all the other options.

I based my rating on the ingredients of this product. It was exactly what I was looking for, however I'm having some problems getting my tortoise to eat it, even when soaked. I will continue trying, though, and update when (if) I'm successful. I've only had my tort about 3 or 4 months, and I have no idea what he ate before he came to live with me. I have been feeding him mixed greens-- both store bought spring mix, etc as well as collected weeds, flowers, etc. I live in Wisconsin and was hoping to find something that would allow him to eat various weeds all winter long, since I can't collect them then-- But, I think I may have to try growing them indoors... But will continue to offer him this as well and hope for the best...

My Hermanns tortoise loves this food! I soak it in water for 20-30 minutes, then place it on his eating tile. He then comes over to it and gobbles it up. I also feed him assorted leafy greens. The pellets hold their form nicely, staying in a semi-pelleted shape.

My Herman’s tortoise is roughly the size of a softball, and is unable to eat these pellets due to the large size. Unless you have a large tortoise, I would not recommend these pellets. Also, even when I painstakingly break these apart, my tortoise will not consume them.

Been buying this for last 6 years for my tortoise 🐢 it's great sorce of nutrients to add to their diet . Just soak pellets in warm water for 3 to 5 mins and they expand i mix it into Romain sald

My Sulcata's love love love this food!!! They have been eating it for years and I know as they grow, we will have to go with a bigger hay style food, but this right now is where it is at!

I bought it as a supplement feed to cricket feeders and similarly just put a pre-soak pellet in cricket bin and watch it disappear within a week - It looks to be suitable for crickets and they seems to be doing so well on it~ suggesting flukers high calcium cricket gutload to be used before pet feeding as well!

ジェックスのリクガメフードからの乗り換えです。あちらは嗜好性が強く、食いつきが良すぎるので、他の雑草とか野菜とかを食べなくなるんですよね。 特に食欲が落ちる冬場にリクガメフードばかりになってしまい、甲羅の伸長が顕著になり過ぎて少し模様が歪んでしまいました… とはいえ、野菜はコストがかかる上に好き嫌いが難しいし、雑草は取りに行くのが億劫なときもあれば安定供給も難しい。綺麗な土のとこに生えてる好みの雑草はなかなか見つかりませんしね。 やはりフードがあると楽です。フードに頼りたい。 それで、タンパク質の配合が少なく、天然素材を使っていて甲羅が歪む心配がないリクガメフードを探してたのですが、いいものがなかなかありませんでした。 この製品を見つけた時にはこれだ！と思いましたね。 すぐに買って試しました。 まあ、最初は食べませんわね、全く。見た目も悪いし…。 仕方ないので3日絶食させてはこれを与えてみて、1日置いても食べないようなら下げて捨てて野菜を与える…といったサイクルを根気よく繰り返しました。 5回ほどそのサイクルを繰り返して、ようやく食べるようになりました。やれやれです。 乾いたものを嗅ぐと、うちのロシアリクガメが好きなタンポポの花のような匂いがします。なるほどな、これはハマれば好きになるはずだと思いました。 最初食いつかないのは見た目の問題でしょう。うちのリクガメはジェックスのフードでも緑色の玉だけ残したりしてましたし、リクガメって色や形にうるさいんですよ。 今では慣れたのか、普通に食べてます。 安定供給できて甲羅にも安心です。 …にしても本当にリクガメは難しい…。 この製品がなくなったらどうしたら良いのかわかりません。買い支えたいと思います。
