So, my toilet tank was leaking into the bowl - so fast in fact that you could watch the water level go down after it filled. I first tried replacing the flush valve cannister seal but it didn't stop the leak. Next step was to replace the whole flush valve. This kit contains everything you need - the flush valve with a cannister seal already on , the red gasket that seals the bottom of the tank already on, and the big tank to bowl gasket. You don't need anything else. The included directions are good - they cover removing the tank and flush valve and installing the new one. There are some good YouTube videos out there as well. The hardest part was removing the large nut that connects the flush valve to the tank. When I first tried it with an oil filter wrench around the nut and slip joint pliers around the shaft, I couldn't budge it. So I sprayed some WD-40 between the nut and the shaft and let it soak in awhile. That did the trick and I was able to remove the nut. The rest was easy - just take it slow. While I had the toilet disassembled I replaced the fill valve as well. The toilet now works perfectly - no leaks. This kit is a great buy and fits great - much better than calling a plumber. I'm happy.

So , when I opened the box , it didn’t look exactly like the old one . However it did fix perfectly and works perfectly. Easy to install without taking the tank off .

I didn't know if the tank to bowl gasket or the flush valve gasket was leaking, plus my flush chain kept breaking anyway, so I just bought this and replaced both. Now no leak, and nice flush! The valve is super slightly different from the original - the part you attach the hose to to shoot the water in is a little different. It worked though. I was not able to get the giant nut off, so I used a Dremmel and cut it off. This was extremely frustrating. In an ideal situation, they would maybe include a giant wrench tool plus a way to hold the cylinder in place while you turn it (I have an oil filter wrench and CLR'ed it and WD40'ed it, but was unable to keep the cylinder from spinning). So between these things (plus, come to think of it, the fact that the original chain kept coming loose inexplicably) I took a star off - but really it's good, it's working.

The house we bought a few years ago had a Kohler toilet in it. Ive never worked on a Kohler toilet before so when the flush valve seal began to leak and I was just wasting water and filling my septic tank with water, I did what every one else would do and went and bought a new flush valve. I wasnt aware that Kohler was special and required a brand specific valve. So, after wasting 20 bucks on a valve I cant use or return, I ordered this. It fits perfectly as it should and works great. Install was super easy too as the bolts that hold the tank to the bowl are attached to a steel plate under the tank and the flush valve holds the plate to the tank so theres no stripping of the slot in the old tank to bowl bolts im so accustomed to.

Got this to replace a part on a old toilet in our master bath. The price for this lightly used or returned product was exceptional. Like $2.50 exceptional. Product looked pretty much brand new. Placement was problematic however. Using the supplied ring which was all identical to the previous unit I was unable to get an adequate seal and the toilet leaked persistently. I ended up going to my hardware store and picking up a cheap wax ring and used it inside the toilet as a gasket as opposed to the supplied rubber gasket. That even leaked a little until I more sufficiently pressed the wax into the groove between the porcelain and the flange ring inside the toilet. If I tightened it a little bit more it might’ve worked but I was afraid to squeeze too much of the wax out. It’s working now just fine with no leaks. Hopefully I won’t have to look at that again for another 20-25 years, which I suspect is how long the last unit worked
