The Bavooa R.E.M Spring Facial Hair Remover is an absolute game changer when it comes to facial hair removal. I'm not going to lie - this thing hurt the first time I used it, BUT it also made me realize how ineffective my waxing kit was. This little spring gets every hair on your face - even the near invisible tiny ones - and effectively pulls them out. The instructions weren't terribly clear, there are many online tutorials which show to use the spring correctly. To use, you're pretty much rotating the two pegs at the end of the spring while light grazing the spring on the surface of your face. The springs catch hairs very effectively, and after a few uses, I found that the pain really isn't all that bad. I didn't have any issues with red skin, bleeding, or pain after the hair was pulled out, and like most hair epilating tools, it gets more bearable the more times you use it. For those who have gotten their mustaches threaded, its about the same pain level, except not quite as shocking as you're doing it yourself. To clean, simply wipe the spring with a clean cloth and some alcohol and it's ready to go for the next use. At $20, it's definitely worth the cost, given that I don't need to look in a mirror while removing the hair, it doesn't require any charging or electricity to power, and it just works. This is a gadget that I would definitely purchase again once it wears out and will be recommending to anyone who wants to get threading results without having to leave their couch. One final thing to note - its recommended against using this on your brows because you might tear an eyelash out. If you have really steady hands and a good gauge of your face, you probably can try, but watch out for your eyelashes because there's no do-overs should you catch those hairs in there.

I have a lot of trouble with hair removal from my upper lip. With tweezing, it takes me about an hour and it looks like I still get only about half of the hairs... waxing is really expensive to do consistently, but always gives me the best results. I've had absolutely terrible luck with home waxing kits as the wax sticks to my skin more than to the paper. I've tried nair for the face, but it still only gets about half the hair and sits on the skin for 10 minutes, which is quite a while. I should mention too that I have very sensitive/fair skin- my skin is practically white, but my hair is very black, which is a terrible combination for facial hair. I am always on the lookout for new things that I can use to help me with this problem that is financially reasonable and decently easy/time efficient. Reading the reviews for this, I was excited, but hesitant. Nevertheless, I figured for less than $15 it was worth a shot. I mean, I pay close to that just getting my face waxed at a salon. I am so glad I tried this product! I followed the advice of one reviewer to turn clockwise with the right hand and counterclockwise with the left. I started near the lip and moved up to the nose. I used different widths of the bend- sometimes I held the spring straighter and others I tried it completely in an upside down u-shape. The pain was totally manageable. My eyes watered a bit, but it was about the same as plucking and less than waxing pain-wise. It was exponentially faster than plucking and got rid of all the hairs on my upper lip! I think for that, the pain was well worth it. I assume as I use it more frequently, the pain will decrease. I was pretty thorough, getting every single hair, and it only took about 3 minutes total time- way less than plucking does (and got sooo many more hairs). I followed the directions to clean my face after use and apply moisturizer and I didn't have any problems with breaking out. My skin was red for a few minutes after use, but it was honestly red for less time than after plucking or waxing. My skin is pretty sensitive though too, and I know that, so I was surprised that it wasn't more irritated for longer. I did get this primarily for upper lip, but I do have a few hairs on my chin area, so I tried it there too. I only have a couple every now and again, so plucking is still easier for those I think, but this worked well there too- getting the angles right was more difficult, but it seemed to work well once I did. I'd also like to comment on the hairs- I tried an epilator before that was designed for the face, but I found that it just broke off the hairs at the skin and didn't really pull them out. I can see all the hairs in the spring sprong AND I can see the little ends that show they were really pulled out and not just broken at the skin! Perfect! I am sooo glad I gave this product a try, and I plan to continue to use it for a long time to come!

This hair remover works as advertised. Of course it’s painfull, it pulls hair out the roots. I’d recommend using this every few days so you don’t have all that hair to rip out every single time, just the new ones. Information provided online here at Amazon reads- not for people with arthritic hands. I don’t have arthritis. However, this is hard on the thumbs and I think it’s because it’s smooth. They should’ve made a textured pattern on the ends that you twist. In addition they should’ve made them bigger. The only other negative I have is the box is insanely hard to open and I cut it open at the top where the item was packaged and I cut right through the case to keep the hair remover in.

I've been shaving my chin and neck (under the chin, not the whole neck) for close to 30 years. I hate it because I don't like waking up w/stubble, especially if I'm visiting someone or have my own visitors who see me before I shower. I saw this online after searching for a solution and decided to try it due to the good reviews. It's a simple piece of equipment and I could see just by looking at it how it works and for $20 def worth a try. So. The first night I received it I gave it a go and THOUGHT it was working. I told my daughter it felt like little static shocks, no big deal. I sat in front of the mirror for about an hour using it, realizing at the end of that hour I really was just learning HOW to use it and OMG, when I was using it correctly boy did it hurt! Especially on the chin, for those thick and plentiful hairs that I've been keeping shaved for 30 years. However since I had started this torturous procedure I was committed and kept going. After about 40 minutes of getting hairs I stopped, realizing that by no means was I done. After about 10 minutes in the process of painfulness the pain subsided, or rather my chin was just super numb by that time. The next night, now having a good idea of how this device worked, I took another shot. Once you get the hang of it, and it does take a while, it works well (in that it grabs a multitude of hair at the same time). Again pain until numb. About an hour later I stopped, realizing that I got SO many more hairs but not all of them. Yikes. The next day I finished up and boy oh boy was my chin/neck smooth. The third day of pulling wasn't as painful and I'm not sure if my chin was just used to it or more than likely, the stubborn/hard to pull hairs were gone so the hairs that were left were easier to pull? I did notice that some hairs don't come out the first time they get pulled, and I would have to go over the same spot over and over, finally pulling the entirety of the hair out, so for me it wasn't a quick answer nor was it painless, however I woke up this morning with NO stubble. I sent a photo of the contraption to my sister and she replied that she's been using an epilator (electric one) for years which sounds a LOT easier. BUT, since i've been through the initial pain and my chin/neck is hair free i'm going to keep it up w/this spring and see how it goes. 4 stars, taking one off for pain and the fact that rolling over and pulling (painfully) a hair doesn't actually always pull it out, so sometimes ONE hair can cause a multitude of pains. But it worked. UPDATE: I ended up returning this and buying a cordless epilator. What a difference. Didn’t realize how wonderful The cordless epilator! I feel silly for not trying it first and skipping is torture device. The epilator pulls out hairs completely, but works like a razor in that one swipe over your hairs and they’re pretty much gone.

This thing worked wonders for me. About 5 years ago, after getting a terribly upclose picture taken, I was absolutely horrified to see that I had a beard! I have a lot of fine and light colored hair on my jawline, but it's longer than most women's. It's not terribly noticeable (I didn't think) except for in direct sunlight and at certain angles. But it has made me very self-conscious for years. I would always try to keep my hair down to cover the sides of my face. I never did anything about it because I feared that it would grow back thicker and darker. I use Sally Hansen hair remover for my upper lip once a week but using it for my whole face would have been expensive, time consuming and annoying, plus that stuff has an unpleasant smell. I didn't want to remove all of the hair on my face, as after doing my upper lip, when I sweat it seems to bead because there is no hair to catch it. Plus I thought it would look weird to be completly hairless. I am getting married in 6 weeks and have been absolutely dreading the upclose outdoor pictures-our venue is a community park and getting pictures at dusk will be unavoidable. I still wasn't planning on doing anything about it because I didn't want to make a lifelong committment to whole-face hair removal-only planning on making a lifelong committment to the man I'm marrying! A couple of weeks ago I saw some infomerical (can't recall the product, maybe NoNo), so I went online to look at reviews and that led me to read up on an assortment of products. I came across some at home machines that were awfully expensive ($400+ refills) and weren't supposed to be used on the face (although that wouldn't have stopped me). I have also researched electrolosis but found out that I wouldn't be a good candidate because my hair is light. Eventually I stumbled onto this product and I poured over the reviews and ordered that day. I was so excited for it to come that I ripped it out of the box. I went to work with a 2x mirror in a well lit room. It did hurt-like others have said, it's comprable to tweezing (I think it might hurt a little less). Tears welled up in my eyes a couple of times but it wasn't like I was about to scream out in pain. I tried to do my moustache but since I used the hair remover cream less than a week ago I don't think it was long enough to pull out. It took me a little bit of trial and error to get this to grab and remove hair but I knew not to give up. After doing my whole face, it was red (like when I pluck my eyebrows) but I put some moisturizer on and went to bed and woke up with smooth silkly, normal skin. It does look a little dry though, I probably should have reapplied the moisturizer in the AM. I love that I can do this in the convenience of my home. I will try to give an update as to how often I have to use this product to maintain my face as it is now-not completely hairless, there are VERY short fine hairs remaining, you know like most normal people! I plan to do it twice a week. This is the cheapest, easiest, most ingenious product for facial hair removal I've seen! I keep looking at my face in mirrors from the angles I used to dread and it makes me so happy. While I can't say I'm looking forward to getting a bunch of pictures taken of me, it's no longer because of my facial hair! I can't wait to tell all of my female friends and family members about this!! And thanks to everyone else who left reviews, you made me try this product and I am so grateful that I did! I am not big on reviewing, but I felt I had to add my story since I got a lot out of everyone else's. For other women with my type of facial hair, I can't urge you enough to try this product. At $13, what's there to lose?? Update: I used this for the second time about a week after the first try. It was not nearly as painful, I didn't even bat an eye-probably because you are pulling much less hair. It is tough to do your chin, I'm still trying to figure out the most efficient angles, etc. I don't think I'll have to use this more than once a week for maintenance, which is awesome! Oh, and it did end up making me break out on my jaw line by my ears. But they weren't pimples, just bumps and they went a way within a couple of days.

Well made, does an excellent job on peach fuzz, but not man type whiskers. It grabs them, but does not remove them. I end up having to pluck those difficult whiskers.

Seriously ladies, if you have any type of facial hair and want to get rid of it, this product is a must! I have tried so many hair removal methods, and this is my favorite product by far. It is very simple to use, and once you get the hang of it you don't even need a mirror. Background: 28 yo, fair skin, dark hair, dark hair on upper lip, light blonde peach fuzz on rest of face. I have always been sooooo embarrased by my upper lip. I sat in front of the mirror for hours tweezing every little hair I could find. I did this at least twice a week. Then I got it waxed professionally, which worked but it was a lot of maintenance and added up to a lot of money every month, plus it was so embarrassing to go get my lip waxed in my early twenties. Then I bought at home wax, I tried many different brands but none of them worked that well for me. So back to tweezing it was. I started using retin-a about a year ago for acne, and my facial hair got so much worse (doctors say they aren't related, but many women report the same thing happened to them). My 'peach fuzz' became longer and thicker and spread out over more of my face.It was beyond embarrassing, I am a young healthy adult, why would this happen to me, I kept thinking. I could no longer wax because waxing while using retin-a is a big no no. So I would sit and tweeze my entire face, which took hours and hours and hours. I then got a facial epilator, which irritated my face big time. I read about these springs on a website and knew I had to get one immediately. I went to a few stores in my area because I wanted it right then. No one carried these though, not even dedicated beauty stores. So I immediately jumped on Amazon. This spring was a bit more expensive, but I went with it because of the great reviews and the fact that it is made of solid stainless steel, which shouldn't irritate skin. The day it was supposed to arrive I ran to the mailbox with such excitement and opened the package and went to work. The directions were a bit unclear, so it took about 5 minutes for me to get the hang of it (you don't turn your hands the same direction, but towards each other). What works best for me is turning my right hand clockwise and my left hand counter-clockwise at the same time. An easy way to remember this is when you are holding your spring up to your face in a U shape, your thumbs are pointed at your face, so you turn your hands so that both thumbs go inward and then away from you. As soon as I got the hang of it I went to town. This product is very easy to use, and pulls out course and fine hairs, dark and light hairs, all the hairs on my face. An important thing to remember is that the spring pulls out any hair in its path. I wouldn't go anywhere near the eye without a mirror and a very steady hand. I wouldn't even attempt the forehead without a mirror and some careful planning, because you will unintentionally pull out eyebrows and eye lashes (trust me)! And this is NOT for shaping eyebrows. But I sit in front of the tv with this and work my cheeks, upper lip, chin, neck (anything below the eyes). I have very sensitive skin and use retin-a. I usually use this right before I wash my face at night time. When I am finished my face is bright red (don't be alarmed!) but it goes away within the hour. I wash my face and moisturize within an hour of using this. It has not caused me any breakouts, ingrown hairs, or any negative effects on my face at all. My skin has never felt so smooth and good, and I'm no longer embarrassed to be in the sunlight. As far as pain goes, to me this wasn't bad at all. It doesn't hurt near as bad as waxing or epilating. The first time for most people will be painful, as you are ripping hairs out from the root. But the more you use this, the less painful it becomes, and less hair grows back. So if it hurts badly for you, stick it out! The next time won't be near as bad. This was a life-changer for me. It was worth it to spend the extra money on a quality product that doesn't make me breakout.

This works incredibly well, I will likely never pay for professional facial hair removal EVER again. You won't be dissapointed unless you have some very strange expectations ;) In my pictures there's a few teensy hairs, but I was able to get most of those off too after changing the angle and going over it again. I don't mind tiny ones. I didn't get any pics of my chin before, but I have a ton of hair that grows and it was so fast to remove. The pictures show the contrast of the have of my lip already done and the half not done. It's hard to tell how much hair there is because the lighting in my bathroom/it's mostly blonde hairs. Hope the unflattering photos help you decide to buy this thing or one like it. I don't often write reviews, but this had truly changed my life in a smallish way. To me it's kinda big because it had come down to either spending way too much at a salon, getting dry/scabby skin from waxing at home or just letting my facial hair remain which was majorly embarrassing. It worked about as well as threading which cost me about $40-60 depending on how much of my face I had done. The only thing on your face it says not to use it on is your eyebrows because it is not a precision tool. It pulls out everything in its patch. So I just used some scotch tape that wouldn't pull the hairs and taped over my actually eyebrow and used it on the hairs below to clean it up, this actually worked very well though I grabbed a few lashes while trying to do it. It would be very easy to pull out all your lashes in one pass if you aren't paying attention so closed the eye you're working on to keep the lashes away and be careful. I was able to easily pluck between the uni-brow area without taping up the brows and my fiancé actually used it on his and he said it was so easy he just passed over it a few times and it was all clear. I have tried waxing and using an at home sugar based wax (not your typical sugaring that you'd have done at a salon) and both pulled at my skin and would often cause scanning a couple days after use. I also could never get the hairs out of that little indent above the middle of my upper lip. It was very painful and my skin did not like it. It also didn't work very well and I would give up because it wouldn't pull all the hairs out and would leave my skin damaged. Also, even the times that it didn't do skin damage the redness would still take hours to clear and sometimes wouldn't be clear even overnight. This spring somehow works well enough that the redness cleared VERY quickly for me. Which never happened with anything else I've done. Within about 30 mins it was clear enough to not be embarrassingly pink and within an hour it was nearly all clear. That might be a long time to some, but my skin just likes to stay red...so that was impressive to me. After trying waxing I started going and getting threaded which works incredibly well and I was so happy to find it, but it's something you really have to take the time to learn/master to do on yourself (and is very expensive to have done consistently by someone who does it well) so it wasn't something I really wanted to do (though I planned to eventually). At this point now that I discovered spring hair removal I'll never need to learn to thread though both work great. You will love it. Just buy it.

I bought this product cuz I was beginning to get frustrated by a sudden surge of PCOS related hormonal facial hair along my jawline. I’ve used it just once but it works so well! It’s really easy to get a hang of. I would say the pain is about the same as threading or plucking hair. It hurts for a split second yes, but there’s no pain or redness after. I would suggest googling or watching a YouTube video to learn how to use the spring first, but trust me it’s really straightforward. And plucks multiple hairs at once, from the root, so you can tell it is doing the job cuz the little hairs may stick in the spring. It is also stainless steel so it won’t rust! Really glad I bought this. One drawback is that some hairs are harder to pull out if they are too fine or in tricky spots.

Ok - so I was on Amazon looking for something to help remove facial hair and found this item with masses of rave reviews. I then realised I was on the US site instead of the UK. There were only about 4 reviews on the UK site but as the US site was so effusive in their praise I decided to give it a try. Now I had no hair issues at all on the face and neck until I hit 40. Since then I suddenly started sprouting coarse dark hairs on upper lip and chin and also finer blonder hairs. I had read a few reviews on this item on the US site, including some top tips about how to use it. I took it out of the packet, made an upside down U shape, placed it against my top lip and then twirled the two ends outwards. OMG - it worked like a dream. Now it isn't painless. you can't expect it to be pain free. There are a few 'jumpy' moments but it removes more hair than I ever thought I had! It is also easy to do without a mirror. If you want it to be virtually pain free I suggest sitting on the sofa, stick on a box set, drink a couple of glasses/bottles of wine and then let rip (sipping more wine in between goes). You can do this for 2 mins each evening and no more unsightly hairs. I highly recommend this - one of the simplest yet most effective thing I have ever used.
