Pros: Cute Beautiful Natural look/feel Cons: Not super stable Neither: Christmas branded This is a clever terrarium that is tree shaped. The base is a lot smaller than the tree, so it's a bit lopsided size wise. Which means the amount of terrarium stuff will be considerably smaller than the container. The base also doesn't firmly attach to the top so the size difference doesn't work in it's favor for stability. My daughter, who is into glass container, didn't like this because the box says it's a Christmas item. I tried explaining that it's just a tree, but the marketing had already won. If you love Christmas stuff, this is a great terrarium. Not wanting a "Christmas" terrarium isn't going to be a universal problem, so I'm not removing any stars for this. Just keep in mind that the packaging is heavily Christmas oriented, so it might seem like an odd gift in the middle of March.

This is a cute way to display some plants around the house. It seems pretty sturdy to me. The top lifts off easily, but it does stick a bit on the left side to keep it from being too loose. I would rather the top/right side actually had enclosed glass panels as well. The listing states they are removed for better airflow, but I am planning to fill it with artificial succulents so airflow doesn't really matter. And I'm not sure it is really needed, even for real plants. Very happy overall, no major complaints.

As stated on the box it is two pieces for easy set up. The trunk on the tree slides out for easy placement for the bottom layers and the glass is dark too like real tree bark & camouflaging soil. One side of the tree is open on the top two tree lines making easy ventilation for the plants you choose to install. It’s a little smaller than I expected based on the size of the box but that’s because of the amount of packing it’s in, but it’s the perfect size to display on a side table during the holidays or a counter.

This is really cute. It is only the glass star, if you plan to create a terrarium you will need to purchase other supplies. The top portion lifts entirely off/has no hinge, so if you have curious kids or cats it might need to be in a safe spot, but other than that no "warnings" to offer. I have it empty at the moment and it is perfectly lovely that way, but plan to put some mini hoyas in there as a bit of a humidity dome (although it doesn't seal SUPER tight!) while rooting. Tres' cute. Nice shade of gold foil edging, prettier than most I have seen in these little glass containers (they tend to have a brassy look to them but not this one.)

This star terrarium fits very well in my Moroccan decor style. I have several lanterns that are stars like this terrarium, and I could very easily create a lantern with this terrarium and simple fairy lights. I haven't decided if I will make this a terrarium or use it as a decoration, but honestly, I could use it as a terrarium that would also be attractive and decorative at the same time. I like that the bottom has smoky glass that makes the bottom of the terrarium flat for added stability, while at the same time, the smoked glass helps keep the star design prevalent. The terrarium won't hold water, which is why they suggest plants that can be misted with water rather than poured water. This star terrarium has quality construction, as far as the gold trimmed pieces go. I definitely am happy I ordered this, and I would order this again.
