DuckDuckGo VPN Kept Disconnecting - Now Fixed
I very nearly sent this Motorola Thinkphone back, as the phone kept stopping my DuckDuckGo VPN app from running. Battery optimisation was turned-off for the app in the Android settings and "Always On" was selected in Android's VPN settings... The DuckDuckGo app still kept stopping, disconnecting my VPN connection... Well, there's also a Motorola Battery settings page which you need to navigate to. I spent hours searching the Internet for an answer, then stumbled across the solution in one last-ditch attempt to fix this issue... In the Android settings screen, search for Battery. Then click on Battery usage. Scroll to find DuckDuckGo (or your own preferred VPN app) and click it. You'll see that "Smart use" is chosen by default. Choose "Always allow" instead, and back out. Hope this helps someone else who might be searching for the answer. As for the phone itself, I can't comment yet as I've only had it for a week, and this VPN issue had clouded my overall opinion of it. I may update this review when I've used it more (now I've fixed the VPN problem).
