KastKing Rover Round Baitcasting Fishing Reels, Perfect Reel for Catfish

I bought this reel hoping for something more robust than others in its class and I am very happy with it. Right out of the box you can tell thought was put into its design and build. Very smooth retrieve plus easier than most drag setting. I usually get a double handle reel but have had no problem adjusting to this. All in all, worth every penny.

This is my 3rd Kast King Rover. All of them have been great reels so far and this one I'm sure will be the same. I got the 7000 and it looks and feels very durable with a balanced weight. Very smooth, very good looking. In my opinion, there isn't a nothing reel at this price point that holds up as well as the Kast King Rovers do and performs as great as these do. Love these reels.

It’s a nice reel. I’ve put as much stress as you possibly can on my 40 and it’s still going strong. I just got the 70 and it’s just as nice. It’s got a power handle on it that’s on par with my $20 Abu Garcia power handles which only adds to the value. The 70 is about the same as an Abu Garcia 7000. If you’re used to 6500s, like myself, then I’d suggest a 60. I do wish I would have got a 60 but the error was my end so I can’t knock the reel for it. All in its a great reel for the price and will get you on the water.

This reel is the identical reel to the older Abu-Garcia reel and for half the price. I use this for bottom fishing in deep water (100-150 feet) and also for dragging tube and worm for striped bass. Performs great with both these applications.

Took this reel out for its first use paired with a Catfish Sumo chopstick master series rod and 50 lb. Big game mono. Going out for blue catfish. Reel looks and feels great, but it didn’t function right out of the box and there seems to be some slop in it. I have to thumb the reel some to even get the spool to release to let out line for a cast. Made adjustments to the spool tensioners but that didn’t seem to work. Even let a buddy check it out. After hooking a turtle and the pressure it out in the reel seemed to work better after, but felt discouraged after the reel didn’t really perform its primary function out of the box. Time will tell I guess.

Heavy duty reel. The button for casting gets stuck a lot. Have taken apart to fix and it still gets stuck. May just be my reel.

This is a good reel ! Took it out last week and it ran flawlessly. Hooked up a 50lb blue fin tuna and it held up great !!
