It's spring—a time for new beginnings. This is Miki Yoshida's final year of high school, and she's determined to make this the best year yet. Miki is in control . . . . . . until Hiro Sakurai shows up. The tall, handsome new student is hiding something, and Miki wants to know what. As she breaks down Hiro's defenses, she is unnerved by how much she cares about him. Too bad he is the one guy who can't care for her back. But Miki is falling for Hiro, and nothing's going to stop her from getting close to him—not even his dangerous secret. Review: Great story, brilliantly executed. - Chose to give this five stars because the story is great; combined with the art it is brilliantly executed yet simply done. The art work reminds me a lot of the kind of stuff my mom learned how to draw as a cartoonist, yet with a strong manga influence. Works for me! Story wise, just kinda has that engrossing effect I suppose. By the end of Spring, my heart strings got a bit of a tug and I could see the emotion rendered on the characters face. You know that the story is great when you're hooked in. I had read a bit before dinner and gone to watch TV. It wasn't long before I came back to this because I had to know what Miki's next move would be. 3/4 of the book later, my TV is still on pause and I'm tempted to order the next volume. Review: Enjoyed the content and graphic art. - It was an enjoyable quick read for teens or adults. The surprising plot twist was a nice touch as well as the wonderful graphic artwork. Looking forward to reading through the series.

Clean, Fun Romance! Can't Read Just One!
Star Rating: 4.5 stars Content Rating: PG Opinions: I enjoyed this a lot. Though the book is obviously fast-paced, it does a good job portraying the characters and their feelings. I admire that they are true to their personalities, and for being fiction that the book does mix in some realistic aspects. Looking at the drawings in each panel, I thought the artwork was beautifully done and I admired Mark Crilley's unique layouts for each page. It was very easy to read and follow along, and each page held it's own surprises. Overall, this was a fun read and I would read it again. This, for me, is the equivalent of a chick-flick, except obviously it's a more of a chick-lit. I could not wait to finish the series, and now I own all four books and would easily recommend the series. If only Mark Crilley would make more!!! If you like manga, or would like to give it a try, this is a great place to start! Mark Crilley is an amazing artist, but he has also done a wonderful job creating an interesting story. Content (For Those Who Wonder): This book is very clean, but I did make notes for anyone who would like to know. Language: "I swear to God" (pg 22), "Oh my God" (pg 46), and "Jeez" (pg 52). Sensuality: None. Violence: None. Other: One of the characters talks about a "goddess of love", but it is only briefly mentioned (pg 144).

Great series, perfect for tweens!
I bought books 1 through 3 for my 10 year old daughter who has recently developed a love of manga. She has been drawing with Mark Crilley's youtube videos and reading his books was the next logical step. She finished all three books on Christmas morning! Then read them again. And again! I've read 2 of the three we have and the story is sweet and interesting. It's a love story lite, with likable characters and a good but simple plot. I'd recommend this for tweens and up.

highly recommended!
Amazing book! The art is outstanding, and it is actually very well written! It has no profanities, suitable for children too. That doesn't make it childish however. I recommend this book to anyone! Not just to manga or graphic novel fans. I cannot wait to read the other three books in the series. After that, I will be reading 'Brody's ghost', the other series by the same author. Stellar review for Miki ^___^

First time buying product from Amazon
The product I bought was Miki Falls: Spring and I bought it because I really like the drawing style from the creator and had a peek of the story. The story seem interesting to me so I decided to buy it. This is my first time buying a product from amazon. The outcome was better than I expect, the shipment and package came to my house right on time as the estimate time had said to be. The package was fully protected my product very well. The product itself have no damage. As for the product, when I first took out from the package, the book was very good. I like the cover, it was better than I expected to be and the thickness of the book was like any normal manga. The inside of the book is black and white (paperback. At the end of the book it have writings about the author/creator (Same person). I HIGHLY recommend people buying products from Amazon and Miki Falls. The creator of this story is teaching people how to draw manga on Youtube and have Fan page on Facebook.

"Fall" in love with this series!
Miki Falls is somewhat a romance novel series. I found out about this book like a lot of the over people who have reviewed it, from the authors YouTube channel. When the book first arrived I was totally happy with the front cover, which, as it is shown in the picture, is very colourful and has a beautiful illustration of the protagonist who we will be following over the series of the 4 books. The saying, 'Never judge a book by its cover' usually gets ignored by a lot of people when buying books, as the front cover is usually the main selling point of the book, and in this case, it passes with flying colours! As a 16 year old high school girl, I am finding this book very enjoyable, however, I have not yet finished it. Like everyone else has said, the illustrations inside are beautiful, and they are really able to communicate thoughts and feelings to the reader, without the need of text, which I think is very important if you are going to create a manga. I also found that the text is fairly easy to read, there are some long words here and there, but I still believe that it is suitable for people of all reading capabilities. The story its self is very good. It is able to make you build feelings with the characters in the book, and it is very tense in places, however, it also has its light-hearted pages that I found very funny. Some of my issues with this manga is that the story flows very quickly. I like manga's like Dragon Ball and things that are quite slow paced to allow room for character development and allow you to get more attached to the characters in the story. This isn't a major put-off, but like saying, it is very fast, but character development is still there. Another issue is that the book doesn't have 'chapters' its just one big long book with no breaks. This isn't too much of a problem, as you can, most of the time, clearly see where there should be a new chapter because of the change in topic, time or conversation. So this just made it a little difficult to decide if I should stop reading here, or wait and see if there is a more suitable place to rest. This is not a large issue though, and this book is great all the same. Another thing that may be worth mentioning is that it isn't read like a traditional manga, as it is read like Western books, left to right, opposing to the more common manga style of right to left. This isn't a problem or a bonus in any way, just something to be noted about :) Over all, I think Miki Falls: SPRING is a good start to the small series. Despite being a little thin in character development and story line in places, the book still counts for a good read and it will for sure keep you entertained. This manga does NOT contain any inappropriate content, so it is good for a wide range of people, I would say about 10 years+, due to the story being a little difficult to understand at times. So I think this is a great book, and I highly recommend that you give it a shot! Thank you!

Miki-Falls: Rated 5* by my teenage son
This is probably the only book my dyslexic son has read cover to cover, so 5* for that alone. This is the first book in the Miki Falls series of four [In order: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter]. Miki Falls is set in the small town of Fukuyama, Japan. Miki is in her senior year at Fukuyama High School. Hiro is the new boy at school, and his good looks and distant ways get Miki interested. However, Hiro claims he likes being alone - and it turns out there's far more to him than it seems. Miki Falls is a bitter-sweet love story based around the four seasons in Japan. Although colourful on the outside, the inside drawings and text are all B&W [Manga style], being beautifully drawn in pencil. Some picture pages have no text at all [text is all in English], and despite being reticent to read anything, my son finnished the 150 page book in a couple of hours. According to him the story alternates from happy, to confusing, to sad and back to happy again, if still a bit confusing. So it's a hit with my 14 year old son and his girlfriend, and 5*. The book's a US import, so although cheap in the US at $9 retail it can be expensive over here. US author Mike Crilley has also written the 'Akiko' Manga series of books [bit like Little Nemo with alien friends].
