This is the one
Purchased this product; and also the Ninja Swirl thinking I would do a comparison myself on how close to good soft serve each machine could produce. Caught both on special so the price of each was almost identical. Also bought some Dole Orange Soft Serve Mix (here on Amazon) to try out the machines. Used a Dole recipe I found online (started with 1 cup of Dole mix) and instead of the 3 cups of water in this recipe, I used 2 cups water and 1 cup whole milk. Mixed it in a large measuring cup with a whisk. Into the Greenpan the mix went; and started the machine on the default L4 setting for soft serve. (UPDATE: Later batches I used 1 cup heavy cream instead of the 1 cup whole milk to make it creamier; and set the machine to L5) All I can say is WOW....it was perfect. Dispensed into pre-chilled bowls and what a treat it was. The quantity of mix using the 1-cup Dole recipe was too much for two people (we ate it until we couldn't any more lol). Leftovers went into a pre-chilled glass container with an airtight cover and into the freezer. Next day I had orange sorbet....yum. Next was vanilla soft serve...2 cups whole milk, 3/4 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tbsp instant vanilla pudding mix powder, and 2 tsp vanilla extract. Tasty! I did bump up the cold setting to L5 to get it a little more firm. And might use slightly less vanilla extract next time. Experimentation is part of the fun. While some recipes include adding salt, I don't add salt to any of the mixes I've made. Turns out I never opened the Ninja Swirl box...it went back to the store. The Greenpan was that good. Who wants to wait 24 hours to satisfy a frozen treat craving? And what do I do with the store-bought ice cream I had in the freezer? Decisions, decisions. VERY IMPORTANT - Since this unit has an internal compressor, upon initial delivery; or if the unit has been placed on its side for any period of time, it must be allowed to sit upright for AT LEAST 2 hours (the longer the better) before turning on, to allow the compressor oil to flow back down into the bottom of the compressor. If not done, the compressor can be damaged and will significantly shorten its life. Also, I would recommend to not lift the machine by grabbing the plastic mixing chamber or the handle - it will put pressure on the slots that hold the mixing chamber onto the machine and might break them, causing a leak. So far I've made two batches of Dole mix (pineapple and orange), two batches of vanilla soft serve and one chocolate soft serve in the span of about 10 days. I'm gonna get fat lol........

Why Settle? Get the Real Multi-tool!
If you're struggling to decide between a simple frozen drink maker and a true multi-tool for drinks and desserts, you can stop looking The main competitor and most alternatives, like the single-function slushie machines, only make frozen drinks, and often inconsistently. The Green Pan Frost does so much more and does it reliably, which was the deciding factor for me. I chose this multi-tool for its versatility. From frosty margaritas and daiquiris to tasty soft-serve and even gelato, the Frost can do it all with ease. It's versatile enough to handle a kids' birthday party during the day or spike it up for a late-night bash with the crew. I bought and returned the single-function Slushie machine because it was never consistent, even when it worked, it would briefly hit the sweet spot for just 2 minutes before quickly turning into a runny mess. The Frost just gets it right and makes it so much easier to turn out great drinks and desserts in little more than 10-15 minutes. And you don't have to worry about perfect timing, it holds the slushiness as long as needed. I also love the accessories, which really help with presentation. Clean up is also super simple. This thing just ROCKS!

Pretty good, but not restaurant quality
This is easy to use, and the size is perfect for home use. It would be a better value for the money spent if the freezing performance were better. It is acceptable and the ice cream is definitely edible. The problem is at the coldest setting it is not firm enough to layer the ice cream above the rim of an ice cream cone like you get at a restaurant, without sliding off the side.

Liquid container cracked
Cracked container I’m so disappointed, I bought the ice cream machine for the kids so they could have their own machine when we had drinks for the adults. I couldn’t figure out why it was leaking. Finally I saw two cracks on the container that holds the liquid. Now I’m hearing that there is no replacement tank. This is so disappointing, because the machine is not cheap. Can anyone one please help me with this issue.

LOVE IT!
It was bigger than anticipated, but overall super happy with the ease of use, cleaning, and operation. I made frozen Whiskey Sour's as my first experiment and they were AMAZING!!!

Homemade goodness.
Nice product. After a little tweeking on the adjustments it came out with a really nice soft serve ice cream. Wholesome and no additives. Milk and cream. I recommend reading about the adjustments and time really well. That will help with not getting icy, crystallized milk. You will have to make adustments/tweeking for things like room temp, ingredients temp and consistency, and preference. But once you get the hang of it its really nice. I like that you can use it for multiple things. Slushies, daiquiris, milkshakes, etc...

Easy clean up!
No pre-freezing. Super easy to clean, We can put all parts except the stopper in the dishwasher (top rack or not on the “sanitize” hottest setting, anyway). And the ice cream turns out smooth. Have yet to put it on the highest setting to see if it holds its form if the ice cream is mounded high, though. Overall, very happy with this, especially the ease of use and cleaning.

6months old and broken already
I have used our maker 3 times. It had developed cracks around the locking mechanism and one of the clips has now broken off. I wish I had bought the warranty. We’ve had it since Christmas 2025, so less than 6months. So now I’m attempting to get the limited manufacturer warranty to help with a replacement. Functionally, it makes a pretty decent ice cream and the margaritas were so smooth on the slushie setting.
