BodyMoves Thumb Splint Brace Plus Finger Hot and Cold Gel Pack- for de quervain's tenosynovitis, Tendonitis, Trigger Thumb spica,Carpal Tunnel, CMC Adjustable wrist and Reversible(Left and Right Hand)

Finally, a brace I can use to relax my wrist that suffers from swollen tendon and joint pain due to RA. Absolutely love the combo ice/heat pack. If you have a stronger microwave like I do, 1100watt, be sure to heat up at room temp and at 10 seconds at time til comfortable. Made too hot first time. Oops ... Brace fits wrist and thumb perfect. I love the splint as it keeps thumb stable. I've bought some that allow wrist and thumb to move and aren't as supportive. And this isn't nearly as bulky as the one my doctor gave but just as supportive. This is my go to company for braces etc. Customer service is prompt, knowledgeable and very kind. You won't be disappointed!

Pros: This is a good minimalistic brace that gives me the support I need. I have tendonitis that presents where my thumb meets my wrist and this brace gives the stability I need. Cons: The straps are too short. My hand is only a glove size large which is not all that big for an American male. I can't put the brace on or take it off without the straps being completely withdrawn from the plastic loops. That means that when I put it on, I have to struggle with threading the straps through the loops with my other hand. This is compounded by the fact that the material holding the loops to the glove body are also made of Velcro so the straps tend to stick to it when threading the strap through the plastic loops. My solution will be to sew on some additional material so I can keep the straps threaded through the loops. Recommend the manufacturer lengthen the straps one to two inches; and make the plastic loop attaching material something other than Velcro, it would make it easier to thread the straps through the loops.

I orignally got this for arthritis in my right thumb; it helped a lot. Then I injured my left thumb. Eventually, I went to Urgent Care because my thumb wasn't getting better, so I wanted to get an X-ray. I wore this splint into the Urgent Care office--and the doctor was impressed with this splint, too. She said that many other splints she sees are more restrictive of the other fingers, and this one worked really well in supporting/restricting the thumb while allowing the other fingers to move freely. When I told her it came with a ice pack, the doctor was even more impressed! About the ice pack--for where I get pain (at the very bottom of the thumb), using the ice pack alone doesn't work so well--*however,* if when I put the ice pack on, and then put the splint loosely over it to hold it in place, that works *great!* I highly recommend this product! BTW, Xray revealed no break; turns out just a bad tendon sprain, lucky me. :)

Why read this review? I am a Licensed Massage Therapist who teaches my method of Neuromuscular Therapy around the country. My practice is strictly clinical, focusing on assessing and correcting non-pathological musculoskeletal issues, so I need an understanding of how each muscle and joint works. This includes the thumb. BodyMoves' measuring guide is accurate: It's 5" from wrist joint to tip of thumb. It does immobilize both the metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal joints. My issue is with build quality. The fabric used to hold the wrist cuff together when you want to put on or remove is flimsy. Wore for 6 hours and then removed, and it's already showing wear. Also, it needs to be perhaps half an inch longer. It's hard to remove. When I do, the fabric pulls at the corners of where it's attached to the more rugged neoprene. That seam will to tear soon. This is because the fabric is too short, making the product a struggle to remove. The included warm /cold pack works well, fits over thumb well. Too bad it wasn't cut with a deeper split at the base, so I could slip it over the MP joint and onto the distal end of the metacarpal. My thumb flexor tendon is sore where it crosses both the MP and IP joints, and icing both would help. For those to whom it's important, this product is currently made in China.

I purchased this a year ago and have now used it several times for flare-ups of a thumb joint issue. It is comfortable, easy to use, and has adjustable velcro straps that hold the thumb in a straight immobile position, which seems to help ease the inflammation. I've mostly used it during sleeping, which keeps me from inadvertently irritating the joint more. I have used the freezeable gel pack with this too. I would recommend this to anyone who needs support at the base of the thumb. Thank you for providing a great and helpful product!

The product was packaged well. It is well-made. Much better than expected and modestly priced. I have a small hand and was able to adjust it with no problem. It fits well, is comfortable and immobilized my thumb. I like the thumb gel pack. Great idea! Though it has only been a few days, my thumb already feels a little better.

The very first time I tried to use the ice pack after freezing it, I folded it to wrap it around my thumb/wrist and it cracked open! The beads kept coming out and I used it only for 10 minutes before it was no longer even cold. I also tried to wear the brace, but it was stiff and uncomfortable. It is too long for my arm, and the part that wraps around my thumb was rubbing a sore because of the Velcro. I would not recommend this! Waist of money.

Okay so I have hyper mobility in my hands from suspected Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. I get this horrible pain in my thumbs it’s hard to explain but it is so intense I hold my breath. My finger joints move in the opposite direction than they are supposed to so finding a brace was a challenge. This one goes all the way over the tip of my thumb preventing it from bending backwards which is what I needed. The only thing that could have made this better for my specific situation is if the brace didn’t cut down to the wrist but instead went all the way up the hand to right under the finger knuckles. Basically like a regular wrist brace but with the tall thumb part like this one. The pain in my thumbs I have noticed comes when I have over worked the joints so this brace prevents any movement and gives those joints a break. Also, I LOVE the thumb ice pack!!! Mostly because the weird shape to get ice around a thumb but this totally wraps around and you don’t have to hold it since it has a Velcro strap. It’s super soft and flexible too so it’s not just hard ice. I can still type on my work keyboard and use the mouse with no issues.

This was wonderful and kept my thumb protected.

I order 3 different one , the 2 other one broke and this one seems to be stronger to keep working and getting u safe. Quervain tendinotysis . Great quality and the fact that the strap are in the top of the wrist bring you more confort and less locked veins.

Really good support for your thumb. I got "Gamers Thumb" and this really helped the problem and reduced the swelling. The hot and cold gel pack was not great though. When frozen, you cant wrap it properly in your finger and when its hot, it gets sticky.

I was diagnosed with a Quervain’s, and after purchasing three different splints this by far gives the best support for the thumb. My only feedback to the company would be to put padding under where the Velcro straps wrap around the wrist. I find the straps dig into my wrist causing discomfort. I have tried to put nylon underneath it so that it doesn’t irritate my skin but padding is definitely needed . Also where the buckle sits on the top of the wrist that also digs in to the skin and for someone who has to wear it 24/7 for 4 to 6 weeks this is going to be an issue. See video for more context. That being said, this is the best splint out of the other ones purchased and will be the one I tolerate.

I have purchased other products on Amazon however only this one it really holds the thumb in place and wont let you bend or move it which is perfect for healing the injury. the ice pack is also handy as you can wrap it around anyfinger easily. recommended.
