I recently installed the Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch Deadbolt in black suede, and I honestly couldn’t be happier! This smart lock is everything I hoped for and more. It was super easy to install and connect to Wi-Fi, and the touchscreen keypad is very responsive. The fingerprint scanner is a huge bonus—fast, reliable, and perfect for quick, keyless entry. As someone who manages a vacation rental, this lock is a dream come true. I can generate codes for guests, set time limits, and monitor who enters and when—all from the app! The app interface is user-friendly and gives me total peace of mind whether I’m on-site or away. I also love the sleek modern design—it looks fantastic on the door and adds a high-end touch. Yale really thought of everything with this model. Between the keypad, fingerprint access, app control, and traditional key option, I feel completely covered in any situation. Battery life is solid so far, and the notifications are very helpful. Highly recommend for homeowners, rental hosts, or anyone wanting to upgrade their door security with smart features. This is hands-down one of my best Amazon purchases this year!

I recently received this lock and installed it on my door, and I’m very pleased with it. The lock comes in two parts: one is mounted outside, and the other inside. It also uses four included AA batteries, which are installed on the inside part. A really useful detail is that the instructions include two pages: one page lets you check whether this lock fits your existing door, and the second page can be used as a template to cut a new hole in a new door, or to enlarge an existing hole if it’s too small for this lock. As part of installation process you also need to mount a small magnet that helps this lock sense if door is open or closed. Technically, you can mount it on the trim on the frame, but in my opinion, that doesn’t look very neat. A better option is to drill a small hole in the door frame slightly above the strike plate and hide the magnet inside. I chose this method, but it’s up to you. The lock supports two common door thicknesses: 1-3/4 inches and 1-3/8 inches. These measurements are also listed in the product description, so definitely check your door before buying. If you find the printed instructions unclear, I recommend installing the Yale Access app first on your phone. It includes a step-by-step installation guide with videos for each stage, which makes the process much clearer. By default, the lock is configured for left-handed doors (where the handle is on the left when you open the door), but it can easily be set up for right-handed doors during the initial installation. Overall, I really like this lock. It’s very convenient because you don’t need to carry keys anymore — you can leave the house and get back in by using your fingerprint, entering a code, or unlocking it via your phone. Super handy!

Highly recommend these locks for anyone looking to automate their Airbnb or their home! The lock syncs with the Airbnb app and you can have codes automatically generated and sent to your guests without you having to do anything. It makes management so much simpler. I had no issues connecting the wifi gateway to my router and then to the lock for a seamless guest check in process. You can control everything through the app, including locking and unlocking the door and seeing the battery percentage. The lock rarely drops off the wifi signal (maybe once a month) but within a few seconds it reconnects (more consistent signal than my phone lol). I got the fingerprint capable one and love it. It’s stylish and modern looking and is great quality. The only thing I wish this lock had was automatic wifi connection capability so that I don’t need a gateway, but again, I have had little issues connecting it to wifi. It is worth every penny. I could not recommend this product enough.

The product description strongly implies that you can generate and share temporary or permanent keypad codes remotely. Phrases like “share a temporary and unique door code with guests” reasonably suggest that codes can be created and provisioned from anywhere. That is not at all how this product works if you buy the Bluetooth lock with a bridge. With the Yale Assure Lock 2 (YRD420 series), you must be physically present right next to the lock (Bluetooth range) to add or modify keypad PIN codes. The Wi-Fi bridge only enables remote lock/unlock and activity notifications. It does not allow remote provisioning of new keypad codes. This limitation is huge, and not clearly disclosed in the marketing materials. Only by reading the documentation carefully does it become clear that code management requires a direct local connection to the lock. To be clear, Yale sells a version with built-in Wi-Fi where adding codes from further away may be possible, but Wi-Fi support absolutely nerfs battery life. Any reasonable buyer would read the marketing copy and assume the lock + bridge combination preserves battery life while still enabling full remote functionality. In practice, it does not, and the marketing copy is deceptive. If your needs include remotely provisioning entry codes (e.g. for guests, contractors, or short-term stays), this product will absolutely not meet that expectation.

This fingerprint lock is super convenient and user friendly. I love that it connects with both Bluetooth and WiFi. Installation was a breeze and it was up and running within 15 minutes. It has a keypad and a key in case the battery dies. The app also shows when the door is locked, open, or closed. I can also easily lock my door from anywhere with a touch on my phone. I have never experienced this lock fail to connect or fail to lock. It’s super reliable!
