These are a great idea; however, this product makes a good idea kind of brutal. The accordion design sounded good to me--it's just not. It's difficult to clean (not impossible, but cumbersome). Coupled with the fact that collapsing and opening the cover is kind of difficult/irksome. So you end up keeping it expanded all the time, which takes away the saved-storage factor. Because of the way it's designed, it takes a long time to dry (or dry it by hand). The place you grab in central circle (where you pick up the lid after microwaving) is quite shallow, making it difficult to grab. The whole thing is clunky. A good idea for a cleaner microwave, but ends up being a pain in the rear.

Yes, it will cover your plate/bowl, and prevent splatter in the microwave. This is, I suppose, all that it needs to do, and it does it just fine. However.The "handle" on top for grabbing it is nothing more than a ridge of plastic. It is far too shallow to grip comfortably, and has no indentations or texture to increase your ability to hold onto it. I have dropped it more than once.The sides of this thing are so amazingly stiff that opening and collapsing it is very difficult. Sometimes I feel like I need a third hand to open it with.It could also stand to be just a hair larger, as it will not fit over the paper plates that I use in the microwave. Luckily, those plates have a lip on them, and it sits pretty well on that lip. (And in fairness, I knew this was going to be an issue when I bought it.)So, all in all, it works... but it could stand to be a lot better.

I guess I bought it because it was silicone. After getting it, it was OK, but my disappointment came after using it. I just bought a new microwave and wanted to keep it clean. It might be my imagination, but to me it seems anything under the cover actually gets hotter. That being said, the little "notch" in the top doesn't give you much to grab ahold of to remove the cover. Even though it is vented, there is a lot of condensation or water from steam that drips everywhere. Yes, it is vented, so if the food has a sauce and starts popping and splashing, it goes through the vent holes and all over the microwave, so to me it's useless.

I do not use my microwave very often. In fact, I used this product less than 5 times and the microwave has burned a hole through the top of the product within the first three weeks of having it.

I love bacon, so I often eat bacon and eggs in the morning. I place my bacon on a paper plate in my microwave, put my microwave cover over it and 1 minute later I have my crispy bacon ready to eat. No need to clean the microwave, because the grease was caught by the cover and with a little soap and hot water it's easy to clean in no time at all. What I also like is that it's collapsible, so with the bacon I only pull it out halfway. Yeah, glad I bought it, very handy!

It does what it’s designed to do, but like other reviewers, I found it a bit difficult to open. I have a small kitchen and space is precious so I absolutely love the fact that it is collapsible. But the pleated accordion feature makes it hard to keep the darn thing open. Sometimes my son holds the sides and I’ll push the middle down to try to keep the sides from collapsing. That works occasionally. Other than that you just have to figure it out, but once it’s open, it’s great. We’ve even used it as a strainer with wash fruits and veggies 😃 I will warn you though...if you are easily frustrated when things don’t work easily for you, find another product.

Live this!I was so sick of washing out the microwave all the time because nobody wanted to cover anything so I bought this and now everything gets covered in the microwave stays clean you can collapse it down and store right next to the microwave. Dishwasher safe or just quickly wash out in the sink.

For the price, I thought I was getting a product that would be sturdy and last. Not so much with this microwave cover. While it does keep my food from coating the inside of the microwave, it has quickly yellowed (similar to other comments here) and I was surprised to find the plastic is pretty flimsy. If this was a dollar store purchase I would be satisficed, but given the price point for this item I should have gone for a cheaper option, or bit the bullet and bought a high quality model.

The sides are not particularly transparent, but that wasn’t particularly important to me. I like the fact that it is collapsable, but it took me a number of tries before we figured out how to get it flat.

Very durable, previous one lasted 15 years. Works great for reheats & easy to clean. Good value for the price.
