G10 Personal Utility Go Case (Blue/Gray)

II bought this case to carry my Sony HX99 camera on the deck of my kayak for easy access when the conditions are right for taking pictures. I just bought the camera and took it out on it's first outing today. Waves were 2-3 feet and the case was wet when I got to an area where I wanted to take pictures. To my dismay water had gotten into the case when I opened it and the camera was non functional. Waves splashing onto the case is not something this product is capable of withstanding. I'm attempting to dry out my camera in the hopes it will come back to life. Edit: My camera could not be revived so I have to send it in for repairs at a cost of $260. I bought this case specifically to fit my camera as the interior depth of the case is stated as 1.6" and my camera width is 1.42" deep. After the damage to my camera, I measured the interior depth of the case to be 1.3" which is off by .3" as to what Pelican publishes. I really didn't notice any interference of the camera and case when I first used it and was relying on Pelican's specifications to ensure the camera would be OK in this case. After testing the case in water I've found that the only way the case is watertight is if no load from the contents is imparted on the lid no matter how slight. Very disappointing as I always considered Pelican as a top notch company for dry boxes but after this experience I'll look elsewhere in the future.

This case works perfectly for me.. bought it to hold my radar detector and it fits perfectly with no wobble. Highly recommended

Love these cases. I have several and use them when I go outdoors. Keeps all my stuff dry and protected.
