Important step when painting metal
Takes care of the rust you that may have bloomed after metal finishing a panel. Mechanically remove any visible rust and use Metal Prep to take care of what you canโt see.

Best stuff for rust!!
I'm writing the same review for this and the paint. You will not find anything better than this stuff. It's expensive but will deal with your problems. A few tips though. I'm a college student fixing a 99 jeep cherokee in the Midwest. Apart from welding a few new panels in I wanted to stop the growth of rust. A lot of the stuff out there is a rubber based paint. Which after a while will allow and hold water in. I looked at options and found this stuff. I bought the metal prep and 1 quart of the paint. I then used brake cleaner to save some cash instead of buying the degreaser and then used a drill/wire brush to remove as much rust as possible. Cleaned the surface again and then put 2-3 coats of the metal prep. Washed and then dried and painted. The paint is permanent, wear gloves cause it will stain your hands, BUT it seals the rust perfectly. It dries to a hardend surface, not rubbery. I have no doubt that this stuff will last the life of the jeep. The second way i reccomend saving money is doing the rust spots only. I mainly used this on the Undercarriage of my jeep and instead of paying $67 a quart I just did the rust spots and painted the rest with bed liner. Bed liner is $20 a quart so it saves some money. I was able to get the entire underside/wheel wells and a few spots inside with the one quart. If you got rust just you gotta get this stuff it will save you big time!
