No doesn't taste like bacon, has a wonderful hickory smokey flavor with mild to moderate heat and good pepper flavor as well.

The expiration date is on the bottom of each can. For instance the one I used was packed 7/2019 with a consume by preference of 7/2021. I purchased 1/2021, but then I use it quickly
