Before making this purchase I looked at lots of different reviews and this bike seemed to tick all the boxes for me. I lost my driving license and live up a steep hill, so needed something legal to get about. Assembly was straightforward, although it’s easy to cross thread the pedals so be very careful. Once assembled, I watched a few videos on how to setup the cockpit systems and today went for my first spin. I needed to go to the nearest town to make some errands and return with some shopping up my steep hill. Total distance 15miles. Admittedly I’ve unlocked the throttle control and maxed out the settings, but even with pedal assist, I was surprised how much power this bike has. But it got me up my very steep hill with my groceries (with some pedal assist) easily. The 15 miles completed with 2 bars of power remaining. So for my purposes, this bike is perfect. Downsides - It’s very heavy… so once the battery runs flat, it’s not going to be an easy thing to pedal about Plus sides: As a power assisted, fun mode of transportation around a local area this thing is great. It’s certainly powerful enough as a bike. I got over 30mph on the flat without any pedal assist. It feels well built, and it got a fair bit of attention as I rode around the place. I’m very happy with the purchase and it’s given me my freedom back.

Am pleased with this ebike, delivery was quick 3 days,easy put together , decided on a couple mods - handlebars & pedals,took rack off for now,easy put back on if required,like rear light so moved it onto back seat,no issues so far,brakes ,gears,speed all okay,such fun on country roads,rode for about 30 km other day country roads,hills etc,stayed in gears 5 & 6 all time, setting 4 ,no problems still half battery left 😃, definitely recommend,I also have Shengmilo fat tyre bike, had 3 years now ,no issues either .

It came a little damaged but fixed it and it’s been perfect so far, also when I had an issue they sent me the part immediately.

I bought bike October 2024, in July 2025 my rear brake caliper failed , reported they will send replacement, August front caliper failed, reported again but replacements never sent on both occasions I got replacement from somewhere else, Now fitted semi hydraulic brakes, as mechanical no good for a bike that size. June 2025 wire harness melted near battery lots of photos back and forth to China, list of parts required expensive no reason for melt down and no time line for replacements, they do not have service agents as advertised I've been there empty buildings, telephone numbers don't exist,. Only found one bike shoo who would look at it most won't touch Engwe, So now have to get an ebike elsewhere, expensive lesson . Don't touch.

After a bit of a dodgy start (inwhich could've been the delivery company's fault), the seller was very good in resolving, good quick communication, issue resolved, also gave helpful information on parts I was not sure of. Product itself is extremely good, I weigh 136kg and it manages my weight very comfortably and has made me enjoy cycling again, (especially when I pass avid cyclists when they are struggling to get up hills and I cruise past them). In summary, great product and great customer service.

People buy these fantastic bikes and expect them to be feather light... Why... I don't know. They are heavy, chunky and solid,., fat grippy tyres and Mag wheels (not flimsy spokes). I have had my Engine X for 14 months now., I wouldn't be without it. I have made quite a few modifications to improve the ride somewhat but especially the brakes., I'm not a small guy - I found the standard brakes to be poor (160mm discs and single piston cable calipers). I have now fitted 220mm disc to the front, 203mm to the rear , 4 piston hydraulic calipers front and rear.... It's stops on a penny. Double shoulder Air forks improve handling too. I would definitely recommend buying an Engwe Engine X. 10/10

A bit big but goid overall. One of the components was missing so I contacted the seller who very helpfully sent a replacement part.
