Glory of Gershwin / Various

I have looked for this CD for many years after viewing the recording of it on a TV documentary. I cannot tell you the delight I have experienced at finally finding it & being able to listen to all the songs, recorded by artists such as Kate Bush, Peter Gabrielle, Sting, Cher & the likes of which you don't expect to sing Gershwin. Each of the artists were truly "hand picked" for the song they sang & it is surprising & often breathtaking to hear them sing music that is not their genre & to do it so very very well. I am truly in love with this album.

I'd had this CD before and tried to find it again to share with a friend back in the early 90's. Had absolutely no luck, so when I thought of searching Amazon - and there it was! I am so happy to have a copy for myself again (old one was scratched) and the new one to send to the friend who originally gave me this.Excellent CD, so good to hear Gershwin as sung by contemporary artists, and I'd listen to Meatloaf sing that type of music all day! I recommend this CD highly

Fantastic compilation of Gershwin tunes sung by a host of contemporary artists, all of whom are accompanied by the legendary harmonica virtuoso Larry Adler. This is one compact disc I play over and over again. Whether you're a Gershwin fan or not, if you simply enjoy really great renditions of classic standards, it's my guess you'll appreciate this CD.

What can I say. This is the second cd I purchased (lost the first). It is perfect and the sound excellent. I give this cd as gifts and never heard a disappointing word for the recipients.

Wonderful gentle mood music. Both Mr. Gerwin and Mr. Larry Adler are GENIOUS'S. Lovely standard unforgettable songs, sang and played to perfection.

I love this CD and had lost it. No one carries it but Amazon. Happy harmonica! music makes a happy listener

Second time I've bought this album. Lost the first one ,well worth it.

Eine meiner Lieblings-CDs, die ich schon sehr oft genossen habe.Den besonderen Reiz macht bei diesem Album nicht nur diegrandiose Musik von Gershwin, sondern die außergewöhnlichrunde Darbietung durch eine Schar von sehr unterschiedlichenInterpreten, die offenbar mit viel Spaß bei der Sache waren!
