great starter book.
This is a great starter book for python. Great for a beginner. I was over the knowledge of this book so I ended up having to skip through most of the chapters. The real reason I needed this book was for the syntax. Everything else I didn't care much for, but if I was a beginner this book really would of helped to introduce some of the planning of programs and how to write them based on a plan.

This is an excellent book.
This book is very well structured. Each chapter builds on top of the prior ones. By the end, you have learned the basics of Python, as well as a few more intermediate tools that have real world application. This is an excellent book.

Perfect for beginners.
This is the best Python book I've found for beginners. It assumes you know nothing about programming. The lessons are concise and easy to follow. The writing is straightforward. However, the exercises provided do not contain any solutions whatsoever, not even model solutions. So if you don't have someone who already knows programming, it can be tough to figure out the right code. One star off for this. Also, this book is for Python 2.7, and some of the examples are outdated for Python 3 +. For example, all the code examples use print without a parenthesis. Run this in Python 3 and you'll get an error. For best results, use the book with an instructor who knows what they're doing.

Well organized book
The book was well organized and moving to the next chapter was fluent. The chapters covered the different topics clearly.

Arm yourself beforehand
Nothing teaches Python in 24 hours, unless you already know how to program. And you really have to dedicate 24 hours in a row to benefit. With food, drink, bathroom and nap breaks. And snacks. And don't put your drink too close to your keyboard, especially if you have a laptop. And you do have to have a computer. And you have to download Idle or Pygame, which will screw up your bash profile. You will need to call tech support and talk to someone who speaks UNIX. I would not recommend this for PC tech unsupport. Get a mac.

Understandable
Steps involved are great , make sure you make the time to study because the material is going to make you think.

New to Python? Get this book!
This book helped me quickly make sense of the language enough to get an A on my homework.I only wish my instructor was as clear as this book!It also fails to correct the print statements should be print(xxx) and not print xxx

Written for Python 2.7
This was written in 2014 for version 2.7, which I did not realize until it was here. No one should be learning 2.7 in 2020, as support has for ended. This is a shame because I used to love this series, and it covers topics like version control, which are usually left out.
