Stellar Horwood STM03 20cm 3 Tier Steamer Set, Stainless Steel, Silver

Bought this to match my new Stellar pans because my old ‘universal’ steamer accessory didn’t function well on pans with pouring lips (they let out too much steam. It’s been a joy to use and looks great. Some may find it a little heavy, but that’s because it is good quality. It cleans easily so I only hand wash it.

Like it is 18/10 stainless steel, nice looking steamer set for the price good quality. Base not as heavy as I thought it would be. Bought it to put aside whilst some left at reduced price for my new kitchen next year.

I have brought this steamer and the build quality is high. However after the first use on an induction hob, a rust pattern has developed where the pan lid meets the steamer edge. It is likely that this is caused by an electrolitic reaction (you don't get to write that every day!) between two dissimilar metals (the lid and the pan) in the presence of an ionic solvent (the steam from the food) and the addition of electrical current i.e. the use of an induction hob. In short the steamer construction is identical to a battery cell, which results in corrosion damage where the two metals touch.If you have an induction hob it is possible that you too will have rust damage to your steamer.

Steam escapes from each section. Bad fit. Would not recommend. Would have returned but ran out of time.
