HOW DOES IT WORK WITH BLACKBERRIES?

Use the smallest screen and it works better than anything I've ever seen at removing blackberry seeds. I've made 30+ quarts of blackberry jam and over a dozen blackberry pies with mine.

I have arthritis in hands, I want something for mashed potatoes, egg salads, etc. Would this or the Oxo Adjustable Ricer be better for me?

I have arthritis in my hands. Got rid of my food mill because too hard to push and my fingers hurt badly. This oxo product is so much better.

Will it remove seeds and skin from raw tomatoes?

I did not cook my tomatoes before using the mill, and that's exactly what I used it for-- to remove skins and seeds. I dipped the whole tomatoes in scalding water for a minute or two to loosen the skins, but did not cook them.

Has anyone made scuppernong pies or cobblers with this food mill? My present food mill reacted with the fruit and discolored it..

I have not made fruit pies or cobblers, but it did not react with tomatoes which are also high acid. I have fermented Muscadine grapes, a variety of Scuppernong in a stainless stock pot with no problems. My guess is your old one was not pure stainless. A good stainless steel will not react.
