Does not work very well

Works well but...
This foam pipe painter is the only practical way to paint my deck awning poles. However, they don't sell replacement foam rollers for the device. You have to buy the handle and roller together. Thus, because the foam wears out, which they will, I'm left with 3 useless handles. That's not very sound environmental marketing otherwise I'd have given the product five stars.

Not recommended for 1/2 conduit.
Bought this to paint 1/2 conduit black. Smeared the oil base paint more then anything. I believe this would work better for a bigger size conduit. Had to apply pressure to get it to even touch the 1/2 all the way.

Did the job, but messy and dripped a lot
It worked somewhat better than a traditional brush, but I have to say it dripped a lot and caused some mess. It was not that big of an issue as I was painting outdoor gas lines, and cosmetic dripping was not as important to me as getting good coverage on the lines to prevent rust. It made the project much faster, but you need to be careful of paint load and dripping if you plan to use it in places seen by the public. Keep a brush handy to clean up drips.

This works well for painting a round balcony railing.
I'm not a professional painter...just a home-owner with over 40 years experience. There is no easy way to paint a pipe, but this product does a very good job. The fastener on the handle can be adjusted to loosen the foam roller if necessary, to enable it to roll easier. Put a generous amount of paint onto the roller. With the thick paint I was using, one fairly heavy coat seemed to cover the pipe better than multiple thin passes with the roller. However, I found that the excess paint on the roller tended to migrate to the outer sides of the foam, so I frequently used a small foam paint brush to wick away the excess paint back into the paint tray, so it doesn't get flung off when I painted. Enjoy!

Better than expected
I am painting a fence and this worked well to smooth out the paint after brushing I also ordered the Foam Pro 88 which is useless

Faster than a brush
I used these on roughly 1400 ft of pipe fence. They are a little small for 2 7/8" pipe and I wish they made a bigger size. They still work well and last through a days painting. It takes some practice to keep from slinging paint off the ends not on the pipe. I had the best results pre-painting the joints and corners and then rolling the rest.

Quality 2star
I paint pipe for a living (gasoline) I would still prefer to use a paintbrush over this roller. It was good for the first 15ft if pipe then it wasn’t even on the handle.
