This machine works great, for both sit ups and glute/hamstring work.

its mostly good its big its solid....but with one kind of big problem that they need to fix...the front pad is is all wrong...it feels like 1/4 inch plywood under the pad....and it cracks if i put my knees on it..very dumb..it will be easier for me to fix it then to send it back....but the rest of the machine is heavy duty..they could of had a good machine with a tiny bit more effort.

Very solidly made. No loosenes. Good adjustment. As others have noted it is very large...I was surprised how large it is even after reading others reviews. Have had none of the "creaking" noises from the plywood under the front pads. This would fit right in at a commercial gym.

I purchased this GHD from fitdir.com for $521 ($550+promotion) with free shipping, last year.I agree with the other reviews for this. My biggest complaints are:1) The footprint is considerably larger than most standalone GHDs.2) The pad bottoms are made of plywood (they crack) which is connected to the GHD with a couple of nuts and bolts. The steel plates under the pads are much too small to offer any real support.3) Getting on and off takes a little getting used to since Body Solid used such tiny stepping plates.The upholstery comes with a 1-year warranty and the hardware comes with a 2-year warranty. It has rubber feet and the steel is mostly 11 gauge. Also, you can use the band pegs in front for GHRs, hypers, and GHD sit-ups. This GHD adjust vertically and horizontally so can accommodate different sizes. Overall, it's a sturdy unit that should last a lifetime.Bonus: I've added a Reverse Hyper (RH) to this GHD using steel pipe and a nylon strap. Additionally, using PVC piping, I've added band pegs for my RH. You see, the 4 gussets each have a 1.3125" hole so a 3/4" pipe with an OD of 1.050" fits through, perfectly! Because of the handles, it's best to use 10 lb plates though 25s are doable, so loading becomes an issue. This RH can be used for unilateral RHs, leg kickbacks, and leg curls.So, for $520 + pipes, I can do GHRs, RHs, GHD sit-ups, leg kickbacks, leg curls, hypers, and much more w/ a machine that is near commercial grade. Great value!

This is a really nice ham glute developer for the money. I don't think the extra money is needed for one with the roller pads if you are using it for home use.
