I would like to like to know if this have a top above the valance to stop light for coming in from above the window? Like the one’s  the hotels use.

The kit we used did not have a top, but if you have an idea of what you want, I don’t see why you couldn’t make something that would work for you.

Question 2

After you cut the fabric, it's unfinished so what do you use for edging?  And how do you attach it to your fabric?

Accepted Answer

The fusible backing included in the kit is used to attach lining to the back of the fabric panel. This also creates a very clean cut edge. We recommend using flexible gimp trim around the edges (Details included in kit). This trim is inexpensive and comes in 3/8" and 5/8" widths and will curve easily around the edges. The kit includes instructions for how to turn the trim into iron-on trim by simply fusing the included fusible backing to the trim strips. This process will deposit glue onto the trim. Simply peel off the paper from the backing to expose the glue and iron on the trim. It is very easy to adjust throughout the fusing process and looks great! You can also use a glue gun to  attach trim. The included no-sew valance design guide covers all of the options and includes step-by-step instructions. You can also contact us during the valance making process for any assistance needed!

how does this kit help with the two different pattern or colors on the one section?  will the instructions say how to do this?

Yes, the kit includes three styles. You will find detailed video tutorials on the product detail page. The videos show the valance steps and explain how to make dual-fabric styles. Videos are located on the main product page as the last slide to the right, and at the bottom of the page near the reviews. No-sew forms are reusable for making unlimited valances to fit any window size.

I have a 96" window and two 48" windows for the same room.  How many kits do I need?  Also, what kind of fabric works?

One Kit! The valance kit includes three different reusable Valance Form styles. Each Valance Form (style) can be used to make unlimited valances to fit any window size. NOTE: Heat n bond ultra hold fusible fabric backing is needed to make the valance panels. The kit includes Three Yards which is enough for one window (up to 70" wide using the Scalloped or Arched styles), or up to 100" wide using the Straight single-panel style. You will need additional heat n bond for your project size. *The included No-Sew Valance Design Guide provides detailed information about additional material requirements, valance style selection and a host of other great information.
