Can you hear the water trickledown? I read that the pump drown out the sound of water.

I just received mine last week (7/10/2022) and it works wonderfully whilst producing an enchanting waterfall sound. The water trickle can be controlled (e.g. maximized and minimized) using a control nozzle on the pump itself. All one needs to do is lift the rocks and raise the pump to adjust either clockwise or counter clockwise. While sitting on the sponge, the sponge absorbs most of the vibrating sound emitted by the pump. Should one observe vibrations or notice that the sound of the pump is louder than the sounds of trickling water then more water probably needs to be added to the base of the fountain to fully submerge the pump. Fill it all the way up. Don’t overfill. Turn on while you’re filling so you can see the water finally covering the entire fountain

I have to put it on a carpet...does it splatter?

Nope no splatter have on my carpeted office floor and bought one for my mom and she says everyone is in awe. Downfall is pump is actually a tiny bit loud no matter how much water you put in it, if you have it on constantly you need to have jugs of water on standby because it evaporates, and sometimes you just can’t get the water to cover the whole mirrored part as it is on mine but not my moms. I suggest distilled water so you don’t have hard water stains and build up or need the algae stuff. But still love it. I bought some extra rocks to cover the wires that curve around the rock tray and it doesn’t have an on/off switch so you need a strip thingy that has that unless you wanna unplug it when you want it off. A bit high maintenance but like I said still love it.
