Commemorating Seikos long line of consequential breakthroughs, the new Grand Seiko 62GS Limited Edition pays tribute to the 1967 model with automatic winding mechanism. The beautiful stainless steel bezel free construction is an iconic feature which has set benchmarks for the future of mechanical watchmaking design. The crown at the 4 oclock position remains recessed into the case, accentuating the slender contours of the watch frame and emphasising the advantage of the No Hand Wind feature. The extended case sides of the new Grand Seiko watch are Zaratsu polished, a process that requires a high level of care to apply a rotating tin plate to the case at a very precise angle. The result is a mirrored finish with no distortion. The final shaping and cutting of the new 62GS allows the watch to sit flush in between the lugs on the wrist and the sapphire crystal glass front. The new design bears a 37.6mm wide diameter and is powered by Seikos mechanical Caliber 9S65 with a 72 hour power reserve. The beautiful stainless steel version executed on a stunning black leather strap with pin buckle, is limited to 600 pieces. Finally using the method of raised relief stamping, the patriotic Grand Seiko lion graces the stainless steel case back depicting the acclaimed King Of Watchesa�� tagline. This fine decoration sees that the appreciation for such close attention to detail is returned to Grand Seiko through the dedication and long-living gratitude of their devotees.
