I bought this one and two other to make a set. They are beautiful. The handles are very nice looking and appear to be very well made. The sharpness is there but you can tune them up even more if you like. If you treat these knives right you will have them for a very long time. You probably should not put these in the dishwasher. I'm sure it would have an effect on the handle over time. I would buy them again.

Perfect knife to accompany our 8" chefs'.This one actually spends more time with the cutting board than any other.*********Wait! I must update my review. I was wrong to compare this knife to my Dalstrong Shogun series chefs knife. While the steel my be similar, it has not shown the hardness of the Dalstrong. While severing a turkey spine using no more than moderate effort, a 1/2" section of the cutting edge became "waved." (It seems to have bent back and forth a few times).

This is very well balanced and not light weight like some. It is just beautiful which is only surpassed by its performance in doing its job of cutting things. I had two other Bigsun knife models and although I saw saw some less than great reviews I still bought it. It is so nice to have a knife that actually works as expected. This is on display in my nicest block

The knife itself is gorgeous and it came very sharp but the steel is very weak and the blade chipped on me by the second day of use.

The knife is sharp, but the handle is a little slippery sometimes.
