Perfect fit very easy install works great. I was looking for a end cover that was light gray to match my factory covers all I could find was white or black I got white looks good I also had to remove paint in the threads for the retaining screw after that worked perfectly. Would definitely perches again

Okay after some grinding some cutting some bolting I did get the part to work. My awning was the older style Dometic told me that this one would work and it did but there was quite a bit of fabrication to make it work.

Would have been a five star if they would’ve included the attachment bolt.

when a spring goes bad on your awning. this replacement is perfect. easy to install and it comes with rivets and the lock for the other end to keep it wound up. Directions included said to wind the spring 9 times however we found that it took 14 rotations to work well.

When installing on an old A&E 8500 awning system (1994 vintage) Have a drill handy to make some minor modifications. (Three mounting holes vs two.) The removed unit (pictured) is the old one with completely worn out (smooth) friction wheel. The new unit (installed) uses a more dependable ratcheting (clicking) technique. Warning: If your old awning's "roll-in/out" lever isn't working, Replace it! If not, your awning can begin unrolling in a stiff crosswind while driving down the freeway - even when it's in a fully vertical position. Highly recommend this item.
