This saw is the answer for cutting tall, thick tree branches!
This is a little miracle worker of a saw! I was facing a daunting task โ trimming a giant pyracantha bush in our back yard, which I would normally tackle with a manual tree pruner / lopper. Well this year weโve had an especially tough winter with lots of snow. All the snow build-up caused the branches to droop so bad they were touching our deck, and I saw just how out of control the tree had gotten. I knew it was time to bring in some tougher hardware than a branch clipper and found this pole saw on Amazon. It slices right through the branches with very little effort or kick-back! Thereโs not much assembly required, just be sure to add the oil to it before running. It was somewhat heavy, especially to hold upright for a long time, so I took quite a few breaks while sawing. FYI Iโm relatively small and weak lol, so for a big burly guy it would probably not be that heavy. But this tool was immensely easier to use than a clipper or manual saw. Plus the price is right! My before & after pictures do look a little wonky because I cut a bunch of dead debris from the center of the tree, but these are incredibly hardy plants that regenerate quickly. Iโm guessing by spring, that ugly center portion will be all filled in. Iโm trying to โtrainโ it to grow up and out length-wise, because it functions as our screen for nosy neighbors. In any case, the length of the pole allowed me to reach tall branches without having to balance on a ladder. One of the best yard tools Iโve ever purchased and would highly recommend.

Cuts Great, good power... but sometimes the head slips down on the pole. Great Value!
I used this for about 4 hrs trimming trees, cutting probably at least 100 different cuts of 2-3 inch diameter branches. No problem cutting. Works well. However, when extending it to the max height and cutting; I had noticed a few times where the pole slips down; the lever/bracket that locks in the pole position/extension seems to not always have adequate grip/locking. There are no notches, so I'm not 100% sure how it locks the pole length/position in place; but it definitely slipped at least twice on me -- almost causing me to loose the saw stuck halfway through a cut. Hopefully that can be improved in the next model, possibly with some sort of "notched" method of extending the pole to certain fixed positions. FYI - For the 4 hrs of trimming trees, I used about 1/2 to 3/4 of the provided oil. Keeping it laying upright (not side-ways) should keep it from leaking in storage.

Its NOT 12' but it works!!!!!!
I have a fairly big yard and could have justified buying a higher power gas one or a cordless trimmer, but Iโm cheap, besides Iโm no professional logger, so for the few times a year Iโm going to use it, I donโt mind dragging the cord around, Iโm slow anyway so it works out. First off, assembly couldnโt be easier, the head goes on with a quick latch, and it comes with enough bar oil to fill the small tank once, it goes fast so be sure to buy extra. The quick latch head also makes storage very easy. I did have a situation where I managed to open the quick latch on the tree or another branch, sending the chainsaw hurling to the ground in my general direction. It didnโt come close enough to fire off a nasty letter, but close enough to get me thinking. Luckily I have my Masters in Backyard Engineering, I actually studied under the world famous Dr. Jerry Rig. I went to my laboratory (itโs a garage) and devised a duct tape safety latch which cured the problem. I bought this in a lighting deal and for what I paid I wasnโt expecting much but figured what the heck. I put this little saw to the test, cutting large limbs and even small trees. It doesnโt have as much reach as other models but itโs certainly adaquate, and relatively light and easy to control, really perfect for light pruning and trimming high woody shrubs. So far I have spent three full days cutting with it, and abusing it a bit and besides the one mishap, the only other issue was when I bound it up and the chain came off, and with the quick change tool less design, putting it back on was a breeze. It has run flawlessly, Iโm very satisfied with the purchase. One note, and it didn't matter to me, as I didn't buy it for the reach, but IT IS NOT 12' more like 7'. I posted a picture of it next to an 8' ladder for reference.

WOW! JUST WOW!
This thing is the shizzle! I've never had a pruning saw before so I waited a long time before finally going out on a limb and ordering this one. The price was really good, and the reviews weren't too bad overall. It came within a couple of days, and after unpacking it I suddenly realized that maybe this was too much equipment for me. My ex was there when I took out of the box and quite calmly said, "Your gonna cut your arm off" I stood up until three in the morning reading the instructions from cover to cover and even looking up some videos online. But waited two weeks before I finally got the courage to use it. But when I did...wow! Consider my prunus avium popped. It was so powerful, yet smooth and easy to use. The way it hummed and so effortlessly cut even the thickest braches, I think I almost had an "O". Now my neighbor is threatening to file a lawsuit because I so zealously cut way to much, going well over into his property line. And you know what? It'll be worth every penny. โญโญโญโญโญ 10/10 Would definitely recommend.

Quanlity is OK. Customer Services are excellent
I have used WEN 8"electric pole saw for many years. The angled head is good design. Extendable shaft also makes it safer to use. Bought the first one in 2022, used occasionally. The cover with a pin to tighten the chain tension broke. WEN sent me a new cover at no charges. The motor burned after 2 years with light use. Bought a second one at the end of 2024 due to good sale price. Again the motor burned after 7 months. The saw may be used 5 times in 7 months for cutting branches not larger than 4". WEN customer service sent me a brand new head at no charges. Although the quality is not the best for the money but WEN does stand behind their products. Updated: I received the new head with new motor from WEN. It took 10 minutes of cutting some 4" diameter branch and the smoke can be seen from the motor. Now I am going to shop for another pole saw. WEN customer service stand behind their products but the quality needs lots of improvements.

You'll want to know Wen
I've only cut a few limbs with it and it seems to cut real well. Easy to assemble But with like any saw like this once the limb is cut be prepared for the weight of the saw to put you off balance if you're not ready for it. I gave it three stars mainly because the poll lock Tab broke and you have to store the saw in a horizontal position otherwise all the oil leaks out. I happen to have a good place to do that. I don't do a lot of cutting overhead like this but I do need one when I need it so I didn't want to spend a lot of money and this saw works for that. Also note that if you have to use it a lot be prepared to possibly change the brushes in it It gives you a part number to order but that is after quite a bit of use.

Brilliant tool for the small, high job!!
Needed to cut back shrubbery behind a shed that I couldnโt get to with a bow saw and because of my pacemaker I am unable to use gas equipment, this pole saw was brilliant and easy to use...cut through like a knife through butter!!

Another little toy
Have used it to cut some high branches in my orchard to get the fruit. Will be helpful in trimming this fall. Lightest (but small engine) for old fogies like me.

Its a beast
the only reason I wasn't going to do a review was I didn't want anyone else to have one of these. I recently borrowed a high end name brand pole saw and used it for the day, and it was no comparison to this little WEN beast, 1/4 of the cost and everything about it is very well engineered.
