Great Designs

This is a beautiful coffee table book, I recommend it to all those who collect objects of design. The original price was 1500 bucks I bought it for 990 off amazon. it was no less that 1200 in the store. The copy I received was slightly worn on the cover but NEW! I don't mind that considering most discounted books you buy from the store are slightly worn anyways!

Examining over 100 objects from Thonet's Bentwood chair Model 14 of 1859 to the Apple iPad, this book serves as a great brief introduction to design for anyone who is interested in the subject. The mix of objects is celtic, from patterns and magazine covers to cameras and cars. It covers all the modern styles, Art Nouveau, Art deco, American streamlining, modernism and post-modernism.

Fantastic book. It was bought to provide inspiration for our son who is doing a design degree, but it also proved to be a great book to browse for the rest of the family over the Christmas period. Gives a great insight into classic designs and the photographs are first class. Great Designs = Great Book

This is a great design reference book, sometimes a little predicable, but well put together with a lot of added detail.

The book designers should definitely read and keep as a source for inspirations.
