Coolest modular toolbox system on the market
As an IT pro, I need to be ready to tackle a variety of projects on a daily basis. Keys to being successful and a true jack of all trades are to be organized and to be prepared. These LBOXX's are the coolest way to keep things organized and on the go. I'm not hunting for things in a big rolling box--I'm finding everything in it's place much more quickly. I use 5 of them right now, and they carry everything I need to tackle any project. Here's what works for me: LBOXX-3: Network patch cables, surface mount boxes, and USB patches and extension cables. LBOXX-1 with Insert Set: Fasteners of all types for mounting racks, cabinets, and wall-mount brackets. LBOXX-1 with Insert Set: Networking tools, jacks, plugs, test gear, and such. LBOXX-1 with Insert Set: Drill bits and driver sets for masonry, steel, wood, and assembly. LBOXX-2: Makita 18v LiOn drill/driver, 18v LiON impact driver, charger, and 3 batteries. I ended up making my own foam dividers with leftover server packing material rather than shelling out another $25 for the LBOXX foam kit. Works well for me, and keeps things from rattling around. They all stack and lock nicely, fit very well in the back of my RAV4. With my setup, this stack can get pretty heavy--a folding cargo dolly does the trick. Sure, they are a bit pricey, but the cost is easily offset by how much more efficiently I can work, how easy they are to transport, and how easy they are to rack in my storage area. If you have a cargo van, these are compatible with the Sortimo shelf systems (since they are made by the same company). You'll also find that some new Bosch tools are now packaged in these boxes, so they fit right in with your setup. Quality is very good, and the insert bins with some of the boxes give you a lot of flexibility with your storage needs. Very highly recommended!

it's not just about the box, it's about the case system Bosch has created here
Amazing box, fits everything just right, it doesn't come with dividers but that's okay. I got 2 of these to start, and I was immediately sold on this system, super convenient, you can build your own tool stack, put it on the L-Dolly which is a bottom cart with 4 wheels, and go. Get to see what these are like before going all in and you will see, as soon as they click together, it all makes sense. Planning on buying a few 4's and 3's to round out the bottom of the stack. Highly, highly recommend, it's not just the "space" inside the box, it's about the entire system, and how it makes your garage look clean and sleek while simultaneously being as convenient as always.

High quality stackable tool storage boxes from Bosch / Sortimo.
These Bosch storage boxes are made by Sortimo. They're hard plastic that protects the contents. They are stackable and lock together so that you can lift multiple boxes together from the handle on the top box. They have two handles -- one on the front edge so you can lift it like a briefcase and a large handle on the top. There are two clips, one on each side, that lock the box into the box below when stacked. You do need to align the boxes to get them to lock in though and that can be a bit finicky some times. They are designed to self align once you're "close" though. Unlocking a box from the box below it is easy - simultaneously press the releases on the latches on each side. My only worry with these boxes is how much weight they can carry before the top handle or latches fail. So far though, I've never broken one.

Solid cases, but costly, and limited accessory availability
This is a second-generation L-Boxx 2. This is slightly different in dimensions than the old ones. It will still interlock with the old ones, though. The big new feature of the second-generation Sortimo L-Boxx cases (these are Bosch branded but Sortimo-made) is that you can open a second-generation case with a case attached to it, meaning if you have three stacked and want to open the middle one, or the bottom one, you can without unstacking them. With the first generation you would have had to remove the cases on top of the one you wanted to open. This is handy, though not quite as handy as it sounds. If the case above the one you are opening is relatively well-laden, you need to take great care to prevent the weight of the case above from tearing the top of the case below right off at the hinge. So in practice, if you are keeping these full of tools, you still need to remove the cases above to open the case you want to get into. The second generation cases do feel lighter and less robust than the first generation cases, which are themselves frighteningly thin. In my experience, these trade material mass for clever engineering. They have crazy honeycomb patterns molded in, and while they feel like they will break easily, I have never broken one. Having uniform interlocking cases is awesome. It keeps your tools really well organized. The organization is only as good as the organizational scheme you come up with, of course, but if you put some time and thought in, the results are great. When I have a task, I carry the box or two I need over, then put everything back and return the boxes to the stack. If you are looking to step up efficiency, jobsite organization, or to make a professional impression on clients, this is a great way to do it. On the negative side, these Gen 2 boxes don't work with the Gen 1 divider cups and trays. Bosch doesn't really sell any accessories that fit in these. This is a shame, Sortimo makes some very cool stuff for these. If you don't mind getting clever with plywood and foam, you can do this yourself, but some buyers might not wish to. There seems to be no other game in town for Sortimo product in the US, so buyers are stuck with Bosch's limited offerings. 3rd party peeps with 3D printers do fill the gap a little, I got some great 3D-printed mounting clips for mine so I could clip them down to a furniture dolly and wheel stacks of them around. Bosch sells a dolly too, but it's $80. What?! A plastic dolly for $80? That brings us to the other big negative here: cost. These are quite pricey for a molded plastic tool box. Bosch is utterly shameless about pricing these. They don't include them with any of their tools, like Festool. They don't even offer any kind of combo packages. All the other tool brands do interlocking cases now, and many of the other brands do a much better job of making the cases a good value for their customers. I buy these when I can catch them on sale. When I bought my first L-Boxx, I thought "this is nice, but what a rip off." I came back for more, though– they really have added a lot of efficiency to my workflow and reduced clutter substantially. If they threw these in with their costlier tools, and if Bosch (or, better yet, someone else) would offer all the great accessories available for these on the European market, this would be a 5-star item for me.

WAS ON THE FENCE.......Great for Bosch 12v, Milwaukee 12v, stuff,...even my Laptop Computer!
After reading some reviews I was on the fence. Maybe it would crack easily, maybe the latches would break off (cheap), top handle in the 'wrong' place, etc.. But I have Bosch 12v drills and was happy with Bosch quality so gave this empty case a spin. I was looking for a box part of some sort of tool box system that I could expand if it worked out. This is part of a pretty slick system of different sizes of LBoxx's with diff features /deep box /sliding covered or uncovered drawers / etc plus stackable. Sweet! This LBoxx-2 size is one step up from the smallest. I use it for all my Bosch 12v drills & drill drivers & have not had any trouble closing the lid or pressuring the hinges. I usually put in the custom tray for the specific drill I need for the day. But if I want an open boxx without any dividers, I take out the custom trays & load up my drill bit sets, extension cords, tape, electronic tools, laptop computer, etc.. The case seems sturdy & doesn't seem like it will split too easily. It is a form of plastic but looks modified to be a little tougher & impact resistant. A good whack or some abuse might prove otherwise. Time will tell & I'll post and update. The red front latches are disappointingly weak & may be the first thing that breaks. The side latches the lock into the bottom or top of another LBOXX seems strong & secure. So the stacking latches are tough. Like the fact is resists water,....better than my canvass & nylon tool bags in that regard. If you just want space, then buy a bag. That's what I did. But if you want something classier & part of cool /functional stackable system, this is the best I could find but not particularly cheap. I found I could save money by buying other Bosch tools as a kit where the kit also includes a carrying case. I If I want a custom inserts molded to protect Bosch 12v tools, I can buy the inserts individually. But I found it's cheaper to buy inserts that come in one of the Bosch drill kits But I bot this box with no custom inserts because I wanted something wide open to carry other brands of tools too,... like Milwaukee 12v drills /drivers, bit sets, etc. & it works great for that. Without inserts I can fit up to 4 - 12v drills inside, vs only 2 when inserts are used,...or 2-3 drills plus the charger. I can really pack it full of tools! When I don't want things banging around inside I put in a small thin towel to cushion /wrap /take up space. Or you can buy closed cell foam specifically designed for that purpose but those are pricey. The convenient size & features of this case gives me a lot of flexibility & diff ways to use it. All kinds of hand tools, Bosch 12v work site radio, batteries /chargers, diff brands of power tools, saw blades, computers, etc fit Easy Peasy. So it earns a 5-Star from me. Not perfect & there is room for improvement but not enough to disappoint. REally like this case & the options of the whole Bosch LBoxx system!

A Nice Box That Is Not As Big As The Q&A States
I like the box for what it is. It is good quality and not the best bargain. An issue with the Bosch Customer Support answer for this product is it says “The inside dimensions for the L-Boxx-2 measured at the narrowest point is 6" high, 12-1/2" wide and 15" long.” This box was unable to fit a 5.5” tall (at the tallest point). It’s an inconvenience but the great return policy makes it work out in the end. I am rating it in hopes of helping with the interior dimensions. I am giving it 5 stars because I think the quality and appearance is good enough for the price, but I would understand another person thinking it is overpriced.

Fantastic storage solution
I work in construction and drive an SUV so i don't have that much trunk space to spare. My tools were originally stored in canvas bags and they were taking up all the space in my trunk as well as the rear fold down seat since i wasnt able to stack the bags without damaging tools. I Bought an l-BOXX 1A,2,3, and a 4 to hold all of my tools and they worked fantastic! I store my Milwaukee m18 hammer drill, m18 Fuel impact driver, m18 right angle drill, a Dewalt 50 piece drill bit set, and my side handle for the drill. All of this fits perfectly in the LBOXX 2, without the batteries of course. The only negative i could see in the larger boxes like the 3 and 4 was that the sides of the boxes do flex a little so when you try and snap a box on top of the larger boxes one of the latches will lock but the other will sometimes flex to the side and will not lock. So look out for that or else you may try and pick the whole stack up without all the boxes being locked together. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a modular stackable storage solution..

Not a rugged system
This review is a direct comparison between packout and tough system which I use for my respective Milwaukee and DeWalt tools. being a tool geek i match my storage system to my platform hence lboxx for my Bosch 12 and 18v tools. After using the system for a few months now I don't believe it is in the same league as the DeWalt and Milwaukee systems although it is certainly priced the same,it is mage of a thin and brittle plastic with no weatherproof seal and the different size boxes don't clip together that well, furthermore the latching systems start to come apart and disconnect from the boxes. From what I understand these boxes are made for Bosch by a company called sortimo and these are not a direct Bosch product.they do not stand up to transportation well and give an impression of being better suited to a workshop not a work truck. Compared to tough systems thick fibre re enforced resin construction the thin plastic feels cheap and flimsy and the latches weak. If you want to keep your Bosch tools organized in your workshop in matching cases this is an good looking option but if you need rugged interlocking storage this will disappoint.i would recommend Ridgid's system over this as well as both the afformentioned DeWalt and Milwaukee systems if you are not concerned with brand matching. Hopefully lboxx will be replaced by a more worthy system in the future, but for now I cannot recommend it in comparison with any other system.

Perfect Tool Storage Solution!
I recently purchased the BOSCH L-BOXX-2 Stackable Tool Storage Case in Blue, and it has been a game-changer for my tool organization. This product is simply fantastic! The first thing that caught my attention was the robust build quality. It feels sturdy and durable, and I have no doubt it will withstand the rigors of my demanding job. The blue color gives it a sleek and professional appearance, which I appreciate. The interior is incredibly versatile with its customizable dividers. I can easily configure it to accommodate a wide range of tools, ensuring that everything has its designated place. The clear lid is a thoughtful addition, allowing me to quickly identify the contents without opening the case. The stackable feature is a game-changer for me. I own several BOSCH L-BOXX cases, and they fit perfectly on top of each other, saving valuable space in my workshop. The latches are secure, and I have peace of mind knowing my tools are safe and protected. Transporting this case is a breeze thanks to the comfortable handle. Whether I'm moving it around my garage or taking it to a job site, it's easy to carry. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the BOSCH L-BOXX-2 Stackable Tool Storage Case in Blue. It has not only improved the organization of my tools but also enhanced the efficiency of my work. If you're looking for a high-quality, stackable tool storage solution, I highly recommend this product!

Rígida y Útil
Me gustó mucho la rigidez del producto y aunque vienen las dimensiones en la página lo imaginé un poco más grande. Lo uso para guardar puntas y brocas medianas, es bonita y funcional .

great product
I have had a full set of these for about a week and I am very impressed with the overall quality and build. The organization these allow you is great. I don't think they allow the same protection as the blow mold cases but they are more then adequate. I wouldn't want to drop them loaded from six feet but in the garage and in the back of the truck they will work great. I do have two complaints: 1) the 1 and 1a boxes don't have the deep hand holds on the side at the latches. Makes lifting the box awkward as compared to the others. 2) you can not use the holes for a lock when stacked! A huge oversight if you wanted to have locks on all your boxes. The hole also places the lock to the side of the case. If you plan to use these in a "shelf system" the lock will/could cause interference.
